Range AFM disabler

Recommended Posts

I am running one on my high country 6.2 10 speed.

The module is hit or miss from what range has stated. I bought it and it worked fine in my truck from day one. If I had any issues they stated they would update if I sent back. Enough piece of mind for me.

I asked the same question is a post earlier this week. No responses at all. It seems not too many people have them  and the they modified the AFM unit to also deal with DFM. I bought one, but now am reluctant to install it. DFM is totally different than AFM and I can't tell when it's engaged. I'm probably going to sell my brand new unit at a discount pretty soon.

I spoke with with the the folks at RANGE about a month ago and was told the DFM disable module is not compatible with the 10 speed transmission. They stated they're working on it. You got an 8 Spd your good to go.

Not 100% true. I spoke to them also after ordering one via email and on the phone for a good amount of time discussing it and they said it works on about half of the 10 speed 6.2s. They still had trucks out there being tested. The way to know it’s not working I was told is auto start stop will still activate. I can tell the DFM is off (lag eliminated hard to explain) and auto start hasnt worked since installed no issues whatsoever and I have hmmm maybe 1K miles

I'm not a businessman but I'm pretty sure if I was trying to sell a product that works "half the time" I don't think that would be a very good endorsement of my product. I think I'll wait until they offer a DFM disabler that works all the time. Hopefully they figure it out pretty soon.

I have a test unit being sent to me.  Should be here Monday.  I was just trying to see if anyone else had one on the 10 speed, and how it was acting.  After speaking with them on the phone, they said they haven’t seen any problems with it yet.  I personally can tell when the DFM is functioning, mainly when I hit the gas, and it goes back to a full 8 cylinders.  Hopefully this Range disabler works.

It doesn’t work half the time. It works on about half of the trucks. It either works or not. They also are supporting it if it doesn’t work and you can tell pretty quick from my understanding
