Door Ajar Sensor

Recommended Posts

I'm troubleshooting a parasitic electrical draw and need to test with the doors physically opened but the truck needs to thunk they are closed.

There used to be a button that would be physically pressed when the door was shut in the olden days. Now they probably have some electronic dohickey that reads the metallurgical compound of a particular part of the door to register if the damn door is shut or not. Ok rant over.

Seriously though, anyone know how to trick the truck into thinking the doors are shut when they are actually open?

Thanks in advance.

Use a screwdriver to close the latch.... the ajar switch is built into the latch.

Ok that is helpful but I need to know which wires in the harness under the dash at the A-post is connected to the door sensor. I am hooking up some lights under the vehicle to come on when the doors are open and will this one wire work for all doors
