Install Price - Readylift 2.0 SST - AT4/Trail boss

Recommended Posts

Went to see a couple shops today to get pricing on the 2" kit for the AT4/Trail boss.

Shop 1 - $1338

- $659 for kit

- $550 for install

- $130 for alignment

______________________

Overpriced (and sales guy was an a-hole so easy decision regardless of price)

Shop 2 - $1100

- $600 for kit

- $500 for install/alignment

_____________________

About what i was expecting, ideally hoping to get below $1000 for the kit installed.

'Back in the day' it was ~$300 for a leveling kit, alignment & install. I realize this has control arms & rear blocks which will require some more work/costs but $500+ seems a tad on the high side unless shop rates have increased that much in recent years.

Wanting to see what others have paid for this kit installed from their shops.

If anyone has had theres installed in Houston, i'd gladly take recommendations.

You can buy the SST kit online at Tire Rack for $510

Labor should be 4.5 - 5 hours of labor cost at good shop.

Total cost should be right around $1,000

I just put on the 1.75” ready lift which I believe should have the same amount of labor as yours in the front.   I didn’t have anything On the rear done.  I paid $500 for the kit and $417 for install, alignment and tax if that helps you any

I got quoted $1200 with tax for kit. Install and alignment.

Ive reached out to a few shops but have no heard back from most (pandemic maybe)?

To be honest i think its fair. Quoted me $596 for readylift kit. $436 for 4 hours of work and $100 for alignment.

To be honest id rather do this kit myself but i dont wanna mess with compressing springs.

Another shop quoted me $1130

For those of you that have done this kit (BTW appreciate the tire rack price) How is the ride? close to stock?  Any concerns about the not being able to use the auto 4wd as that's something I use in winter.  If you do the rear block does the truck sit completely level or still little rake?

Thanks

The labor rate out here is 220 / hr at the dealership.

Small shops are right at 180/ hr.

you're likely getting charged more because they have to disassemble the struts IIRC with that kit.

$220/hr for shop labor?! Holy ******. I own 14 shops in 4 different states (one being CA) and our highest labor rate is $150/hr. Goes all the way down to $100/hr here in Houston. That’s absolutely absurd. Where are you located?

I typically charge about $800-850 plus tax installed but the alignment would be up to the customer

Where in Houston? Shoot me a PM with details and quote for the 2" SST.

You also do tires? Looking at 285/75/18 Ridge Grapplers.

Ride is same as stock.  I have used 4H and 4L without issue - have not tried 4WD Auto after talking to RL about why they don't recommend.  Axel angles are not ideal, but it works fine and truck looks good.

Here is mine without rear block with 18" stock wheels - 1/4" nose high - then added rear block and was about 1/2" rake to back.  Also recent shot with 18" Method wheels - front has settled a bit.  So now about 1" @$$ high - so without rear block would likely be closer to level level.  Tape shows current from ground to bottom of wheel arch lip (painted in my case) - about 40" in front and 41" in rear with methods,
