Offset Question - Fuel Contra 20x9 for 2020 Sierra SLT

Recommended Posts

Hey, all. I have a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT X31. Going to put a RC level kit on and am wanting to upgrade from stock wheels and possibly tires as well. Looking at the Fuel Contra 20x9. I have a question about what offset to choose. I’ve looked for pictures and really haven’t found any that would help.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Looking at the same wheels. I have an AT4 and I think the stock 18's are 8.5" with +26 offset.

Gonna go with the +20 offset and they should only stick out about 1/2 more.

Don't know what size you're looking at, but also the AT4 has a stock 2" lift.

^^^^meaning smaller in width, not necessarily diameter. I am on 33’s and have similar poke with a 4” lift and 12.5” width. 20x9 Moto Metal +0 offset.

Correct, thanks for clarifying. I should have mentioned my tires are 12.5" wide as well.

These are 20x9 Fuel Rebels with a +1 offset (with 35s on a 4” lift), so I imagine smaller tires would poke out a bit less.

Love that look, any rubbing with just the 4 inch lift and the 35?  or did you have to trim/move bumper mud guards?

There was lots of rubbing. The mud guards were trimmed down to almost nothing and I ended up removing them, and the shop also had to do some metal adjustment to the rear of the wheel wells.

Any rubbing?

Since I’m just running a 2” level what tire size would you recommend that won’t rub/ won’t be necessary to do any trimming?

I think you could still pull off 33x12.5 with a 2” level. If any rubbing, you might have just a touch at full lock inside the wheel well liner/mudguard, but minimal. Not enough to do damage. Again, that assumes +0 offset. If you go into negative offset, you’ll rub. If you go into positive offset, you’ll be in good shape. At least that has been my experience.

Oh, and whether I have any rubbing, just a touch at full lock when the suspension is compressed. Barely any, so little that it does not cause any damage and is not snagging on the liner or mudflap. It has been no issue at all on my setup.

What lift are you running? I am picking up my new AT4 in about a week and have been so confused on lifts/levels for the AT4s. With the factory 2” lift, is adding a 2” level how you’re getting a 4” lift or did you add an actual 4” lift making it a 6” lift total?

Also, I don’t want to lose ability to run 4WD Auto. Heard some issues with lifts resulting in this issue.

Thank...

I’m running the ReadyLift SST +2” lift. Factory lift +2” more for a total of 4”. Kit includes new UCAs to help with the geometry.

Here’s the link:

I have yet to have Auto 4WD issues, but I only used it a few times briefly. Hope that helps.
