Sierra 1500 SLT X31 - GOING TO LOOK AT

I am going to look at a Sierra 1500 SLT x31 package with the premium plus package.

So hard to find honest review videos online.

5.3l 10 speed. They're offering 9500 off MSRP with the deals right now.

Can get a 60k truck down to 50k before down Payment and trade in.

Does anyone have one to provide an honest opinion.

Not dealer centric.

Was looking at an RST until I realized the difference between the cloth and ventilated leather. So I looked at LTZ and SLT packages. Wanted to find one with safety features for blind spot and front parking assistance. This one has it and more. Comes on 20 inch rims and Goodyear Wrangler ATs.

I'm just looking to get some opinions about owning it. Will be using for mostly highway and for loading my quad.

Can you let me know what you think.

Also the color is Quartz Metallic which I haven't seen yet. Hopefully it's nice in person because finding an SLT OR AT4 is a real hard thing to come by in my neck of the woods.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Moe

I got a '19 8 speed 4wd SLT with the tech package, 20's, both convinience packages, White Frost Tri-coat, Color Matched fender flares, all weather mats, etc. Fully loaded essentially the only things mine doesn't have are the larger gauges, the HUD, Denali Grille, and auto steps and the sticker was around 60k. Paid 42500 OTD. It did have like 1k miles on it as it was a loaner vehicle but had never been titled.  This was last year but look around IMO. Much better deals out there and I would have optioned it out exactly how it was. Don't say that to brag but the guy with the money holds all the cards IMO.

Going to look at a 2018 SLT

Dealer wants 36,500.  It's got 24000 miles.

6b speed automatic. Anything I should look at.

Btw dealer went down to 51130 from 6060. Wouldn't go any more.

A new one isn't a whole lot more especially with $10k off. Chevrolet trucks hold value insanely well.

my 2019 RST 4x4 all star was $36,500 brand new (plus TTL but have to pay that anyway)...….MSRP was 49k

this is exactly the reason I bought new cuz the used were damn near same price or more in some cases

if I could get one that low I would. Lowest they would go was 9 grand on a 60K truck.  To be honest I drove a Silverado and a Sierra and I didn't care for either of their rides.  My Colorado drove much better.

Yes the new truck was a little sportier around the turns but I drive mostly on the highways and this thing really excelled at driving on the highways.  85 MPG file like I was in a sedan.  I wasn't weaving in and out of traffic, but I just felt like the ride was a lot smoother.

I really wanted to like the new trucks but saving 15 grand and getting the same bells and whistles in a better driving truck with low mileage and the GM Certified Warranty has me getting the 2018 Sierra SLT.

If you want a "sporty" ride look at a Ram. Despite what the fools on here tell you the 5.7L Hemi has more getup than the 6.2L in the GM and the truck feels smaller and higher overall even though if you look at the dimensions they are comparable.

However, I couldn't disagree more about on the highway though. Thing is like a spaceship on the highway with how quiet and smooth it is. Yeah to each his own but the difference between a '18 & '19 is massive aesthetically. Do the drive that much different? Of course not. But the Dual exhaust, headlights, multipro tailgate, appear much taller and wider even though it is really only a couple inches, etc on the exterior and the upgraded leather, center console, charging station, gauges, etc. The simple truth is an '19 SLT is 1000x nicer than even a '18 Denali. Never seen that much of an aesthetic difference between generations on a vehicle. My dad has an '18 LTZ and when he saw the '19's and specifically my '19 loaded SLT he was pissed. If I was you I would look around or wait out the market until everything normalizes and you will be able to pick up a '19 in a year after they do the refresh for what you want one for. At the end of the day it is your money but the difference between those two vehicles is substantial and every time you see a '19...

You don't have the tech package as you can't get it on an SLT.

Tech package is HUD, digital gauge cluster, camera rear-view mirror and 360 camera system. I'm guessing your truck is a Premium Plus, like mine. So you have Driver Alert I & II.

Fools??  The ram 5.7L doesn't have more giddy up.  I'm sorry, but I have owned an 18 6.2L with 8 spd and tuned and now a 19 with 6.2L and 10.spd.  both of them would smoke a Ram hemi..I've raced an 18 which is my best friends and it wasnt even close. And my uncle has brand new limited and my truck embarrasses that.  Maybe you should look at the data.  Car and driver tested the 6.2L at 5.3 secs.  The 5.3L tested at 6.1 secs. and the hemi 5.7L was tested at 6.2 secs!  Also go to pickuptruck.com and look at their data.

Please don't Spread false data without knowing what the heck you are talking about.

Here I downloaded sheet for you.

It's like if you guys say it enough times it will become true. The acceleration on the 5.7L Hemi is noticeably faster than the 6.2. And the 6.2 is not that much faster than the 5.3. Like I said test drive them all and get back to me. I'm guessing you are one of the long line of people with an opinion but never test drove anything other than the vehicle you bought which I'm guessing is a 6.2

So you're one of those guys huh??.  Insult because you're so conceded.  Or maybe your can't read???  I just put numerical data right in front your your eyes that proves the 6.2L is WAY faster. I just told you if you could READ, and read for COMPREHENSION,  that I have raced and driven an 18 hemi (FRIENDS) and new 19 hemi (UNCLES) It's no comparison.  You might wanna go back to school and get educated. You're embarrassing yourself rookie!!!

For those us that can read, the data is right there. It proves which is faster and those of us who own a 6.2L know nothing other then a H.O. 3.5L can beat us....

I liked to see the performance package of the 6.2L go up against the H.O. ecoboost.  I bet it would be close.

Wait so you call me "conceded" and then say that I can't read?

At a certain point it is what it is. I can make up a stat for anything to fit my narrative. Trust and believe after trying to read the rest of what you wrote, that I might not be the one who could use more schooling... Have a nice day. "It's no comparison."

Two masters degrees. What kind of potato doesn't get their doctorate? That's like saying I wasted ~ 2 1/2 years of my life that I should be making money on getting a 2nd Masters because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. GTFOH. And they didn't teach you how to spell conceited during either Masters program. Real G's don't need secondary degrees. Not that I believe anything you said anyways...

It is young enough to be a very nice truck, but old enough to have seen hard times.

Thinking you might have Country hit with that quote, now if you can finish the rest of the song just as strong.....

SMH.....still haven't learned.  You caught me on a spelling error from my phone.   I'll give you that one, BUT you still haven't learned.  YOU ARE WRONG and it's hilarious you keep thinking your right.

Even when every car magazine can prove me right and you hilariously wrong!!

And my 2 degrees is my determination to better myself and my family to have all the things that I didnt have when I was younger, even when my father worked 2 jobs to keep us afloat.

You wouldn't know because all you do is run your mouth about false things and then insult to make your little ego feel better!

Again go READ and do some research at car and driver, motor trend, pickuptrucks.com, trucktrend, and road and track. Then you can swallow those ignorant words thinking the Ram hemi is faster..LMFAO....stupidity at its finest folks
