How many guys not having problems with high mileage

Recommended Posts

Just turned 115+K miles of which I put on 95+K. New battery and ground wire to block (bad crimp on OE), repaired a frayed 02 sensor wire and new right rear tail light harness (corroded). Regular oil changes and new brakes, plugs & wires recently.

Only real issue's are: rusted out frame and lower cab panels, leak in rear cab headliner area and of course its white so the paint is flaking off in the typical areas.

Overall a reliable truck for this Michigan climate.

You didn't mention on whether the leak was up front or in the back of the cab. Just an FYI, the 2 most common locations that develop leaks are from the sharkfin antenna or the third brake light. The leaks are from the seals failing. Both are somewhat easy fixes.

I guess I bad lucked truck. While driving home yesterday, truck was acting like transmission slipping a little.. plug in OBD reader and its showing 53 codes!!! engine idles and runs fine. No engine light.  Any suggestions??

my 2014 just hit 190k miles and still going. box wheel wells and rockers are rusting even thou it was rust proofed. i guess you can't beat old man winter in Ontario. and the usual paint flaking

I'm right there with ya. 184,500. 🫣 She's starting to collect some environmental bumps and bruises. Stone hit a headlight lens and cracked it. Windshield is getting weathered, scratches and stone chips. A few unrepaired rock chips. Dent in the front bumper I've been meaning to address forever. But no rust yet. She sleeps most of the winter. Comes out only on sunny no snow, no salt days
