Chevy OEM Window Sunshade

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have the genuine Chevy sun shade for their 2019-2020?

I know I could get a generic or off branded one for much cheaper, but I have about 23000 GM points and need a something since it's been >100* heat index lately and the truck won't fit in our garage.

With the points, I could get this OEM one for about $15.

Does anyone have the OEM one and any review/feedback? Does it fit well around the edges? Does it help keep out the heat at all?

If you have the weathertech or a Walmart generic, that's great, but I'm really looking to exhaust these points and spend as little as possible unless this thing is garbage.

That's the way top go, worth every nickel! Felt on one side reflective material on the other. Custom fit across the windshield with cutout for the rearview and held up by the two visors. easily unfolded and placed, and removed and folded from either front seat and then stored on the unoccupied rear floor with a one handed reach-around. This cardboard insert keeps out heat better than the cheapo ones, stitched folds insure durability, felt back protects the dashboard and reflectivity on the painted front surface is not so great (unlike aluminum foil) that it heats up the windshield glass so hot you'll get a burn or the possibility of compromising the windshield sealant.

I believe Covercraft makes this one too but if anyone wants to save money, buy the Husky ones. They are also made by Covercraft and are custom fit. All three are the same just with a different brand stamped on it but also in the corner of it, it says Covercraft. I got the Husky ones for $45 directly on their site with a discount code. The only feedback I have about it is it’s super snug and sometimes placing/removing it, it hits my rearview mirror and I have to readjust it. OP save your money and buy this then use your rewards on something else.

You convinced me. Just ordered the Husky.

Will save the points for some type of service when needed.

Thank you!

Arrived today. Fits snug getting into position, but once in, there is a gap around the rear view mirror. Not sure they could get that area smaller and still get it to go into position without having to rotate the mirror 90 degrees. Overall this is a good product. Thanks for the recommendation.

This is what I have done in the past.

I used my points to buy the unit for my 2020 because my 2014 didn't fit.  Otherwise, I would have just gone with the Husky again.  IMO, the OEM version is FAR too pricey for what you get.  If it wasn't free, I wouldn't have bought it.
