Wheel Cleaner

Has anyone had any luck with wheel cleaner? On my first car with aluminum wheels the clear coat started to peel off, I am convinced it was the cleaners on my current truck the same thing happened but I had the wheels replaced under warranty and that is when I change to Rain-X window cleaner, I found out by accident that it worked better than anything I have seen I read the bottle and there doesn’t seem to be any harsh chemical in it. I bought this bottle Rain-X window cleaner concentrate many years ago and now I am out and can’t find it anymore. So I need to find something else that works as well. Anyone have any ideas?

I have had real good luck with Eagle 1 A to Z tire and wheel cleaner. Its the stuff in the bright orange bottle. Very easy to use and works wonders. It hasnt stripped the wheels or anything like that and I have been using it for a while so Id say its good stuff. :sigh:

I've always had bad luck with most of the wheel cleaners. I used to use Eagle 1 AtoZ, but with it's acidity, it always turned the plastic whitish and dulled the clearcoat. I use P21 on occasion when my wheels are really dirty. The only problem with P21 is that it seems to leave the wheels looking a little dull. Normally I just use the same car wash soap to clean the wheels. I just use a dedicated sponge and a separate bucket. This has kept the wheels in the best shape. An occasional coat of wax will help to keep the brake dust from sticking as badly.
