Adding max trailer package to a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500SLT

Recommended Posts

With gear, food, water for the fresh and waste tanks, and propane, you are probably almost as heavy as the one you are looking at.

Don't think 800 lbs. will make much of a difference as far as being right at the limits (or over) the truck.

Plus you have to take in account the weight of fuel, people, supplies, etc. that will be in your truck, and how it lowers it's ability to hit max numbers.

All of this "stuff" your talking about is simply not good!  Tongue weight?  I would suggest understanding the tow ratings exceptionally well and make an informed, "SAFE" decision.  Then go 70-75% Your so far out of 1/2 ton range it's UGLY!

Also where are you located? Mountains? I know my 6500lb trailer would overheat both my 2500hds 6.0 and dmax i had, in the summer pulling a certain grade. Nothing worse than dealing with truck issues trying to go camping.
