Parking sensors shutting off

Recommended Posts

I have a 2021 Trail Boss LT 6.2, purchased brand new with 6 miles on it right off the transport truck from the factory) with just over 15k miles. Last night sitting in a drive thru my Park Assist randomly turned off.  I noticed the notification, looked down at the button/light, sure enough. I pressed the button to turn it back on, nothing. I put my truck in park, turned off the engine and restarted it after 30 seconds or so, still off. I have had major issues with the Android Auto, connecting with my phone and wi-fi since shortly after I purchased the truck. When I took the truck in for the last oil change Chevy told me my truck needs an update and will take at least two hours. I use my truck for business and I don't have the time to sit around for two hours + for a software update. Now this... I love my truck (fully loaded) but recently I was offered 65k for it (what I bought it for).  But then what do I buy after I sell it?  Ugh. Frustrated.

It does suck. Mine randomly turn off also. When I asked the dealer about it they said, "Couldn't replicate." Well since its random, of course they couldn't. So it still does it and will probably never be fixed. A damn shame for such a nice looking and expensive ride.

Reviving this dead horse. Recently bought a used 2022 LTZ 2500 with 20k miles. Parking Assist randomly turned off while driving and pressing the button on the dash wouldn’t turn it back on. Stopped to get a haircut and everything was back to normal after getting back in the truck. Wondering if there has been a solution, fix, mod found since the last post in this thread

Mine has a similar issue, I took it to the dealership and paid the diagnostic fee. They said it was just one of the front sensors, but if one goes out, the system turns all of them off. I've noticed it's temperature dependent, when it's less than 65-70 degrees, it works, if the sun warms it up, or if it's hot out, it stops working. Replacement sensor + labor is almost 600 dollars...

Same issue here… system turns off at random, then the switch becomes unresponsive and a few days later will suddenly start working again.  At one visit they had to replace sensors in the front bumper, and at the last visit it was sensors in the rear bumper.  Clearly a faulty design or component in these sensors if that’s really the cause, but with all the other electrical gremlins we’ve encountered, who the hell knows.  Thankful for an extended warranty at this point!

Strange… a resurgence of this problem on other forums… hmm.. OTA updates??

My 2017, only 98k miles… been having these “intermittent” failures… dealer says.. “not broken””… maybe your grille guard… “ I removed it.. seemed to help,  put back on, still intermittent.. hmm..

So.. after reseating every connector on body, under hood and in dash, still gives”Service Trailer Braking System”… and it dings and dings… stops then does it again… just driving down the road…

when it gives that error and sings, the “Park” button on dash console fails to illuminate or cause change in behavior Of the system.

Whatever you do… do NOT jump another vehicle…. Maybe. One t the cables to charge, but do NoT let them try to turn on or start their vehicle.  Just sayin…
