Is the fender wells supposed to be carpeted on the 2020 GMC Sierra?

yes, not carpet but it sure looks like it.

Ok, just wanted to make sure. Didn’t notice it when I was looking at the truck. Got it home and my wife noticed it, and I’ve never seen it before. Thanks

They started using that material in 2014 on these trucks. It's a pain to clean sometimes.

I’m sure they are! Don’t make much sense to me, but I guess if it’s on all of them there’s not much you can do about it.

I think it's optional but included in pretty much every package. I've heard it does reduce corrosion. So maybe not a selling feature if you live in the south.

I actually prefer the "carpeted" wheel liners as they seem to keep everything cleaner. My wife's Escalade has it but my 2013 did not so I am happy to have it on my 2020 AT4 carbonpro. Since my truck has the carbonpro bed though the liners are only on the front.

Yup there a pain to clean , but really helps to absorb the road noise , especially on gravel. I think there a great idea

Pressure washer is your friend. I actually look forward to blasting the wheel wells. Very satisfying and takes no effort at all. Plastic liners get all dinged up from rocks and look like crap.

I use my own product; ZOOM cleaner- spray it on liberally & let it soak for a bit, then hose out thoroughly with a garden hose and spray gun. Makes cleaning them a lot easier.
