Does anyone regret getting/not getting the Z71 package?

The 3.0 dmax, from what i can tell, is far cheaper to maintain than the dodge eco. And i dont know why DEF is a pain for you, but here we can pull up to a pump and get it in bulk, fills up the same as a gas tank. Diesel may be about 30 cents more per gallon but i get nearly 10 mpg more than i did with my 5.3.

Well.. every man has to call it like he sees it. All three of my oil burners ended up with coked up intakes from EGR. It took me a weekend to do each one. cleaning was with pressure washers, grinders,  flex drill bits and lots of scraping. i also had a turbo go. and that is hard to work on and buckeroos. i am at a point where i think the 5.3 is ok.

I am from NJ.. although i live in the lower middle, now. It is tougher to find diesel stations.. in NJ in the rural areas. My RAM did 25 mpg all day long, so there is no doubt they get better mileage. Like they say... pay me now or pay me later.. ultimately there is not a lot of gain either way.

That would be tougher. In idaho i dont think ive ever seen a station that didnt have diesel, not every one has DEF bulk at the pump, but usually have jugs.

I'm happy with my 4x4, but then again, I never had a z71. I have a boat that I tow, and even with my old 2wd I never had a problem, even at the boat ramp.

The only thing I would like is maybe some skid plates for when I'm off roading, which as others have said, can be added later. Any recommendations?

I love the Z71 package, for the features and the badging. Just a personal preference having to do with looks and peace of mind. I doubt you could tell the difference on performance.
