fuel gauge suddenly reads empty

Recommended Posts

With no warning light coming on, I'm gonna guess it's the gauge that's not working.

If the sensor was the problem I'd expect both the gauge and warning light to indicate low/empty.

Curious to find out what you learn!

Does the needle move at all when you initially turn the truck on?

yes.   sweeps right, then left, stays left.  range reads “- -“ but as of yet no warning light - maybe the system only polls for that warning every so often, i dunno.  not driving much with the shutdown.

also, i just checked my records and this same problem was fixed under warranty 15k miles ago.  is this a known issue?
