How do I get pops and crackles on deceleration

Recommended Posts

I recently installed a glass pack with an axle dump on my 2006 Chevy 1500 with the 5.3. When I rev in neutral or park I get a lot of crackles and pops, but when I’m driving I get none. My truck becomes completely silent on deceleration, and i don’t hear any engine noise at all. Would I need a tune to fix this? Anyone else with this problem?

Fuel injectors can shut off on decel. It's called De-acceleration fuel cut-off in the calibrations. It's for emissions and fuel mileage. It's not a problem, it's just how things are setup.

Someone with a tuner and knowledge on this would have to alter the calibration to keep fuel going when the throttle is let off.
