Air filter question

Does anyone know the GM part number for the Z71 air filter? I have a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3. Not sure if the part number in my owner's manual is for the Z71. I know there are 2 different ones.

I used AC Delco A3181C for my 14 Sierra 5.3 with Z71 (which is the high capacity filter). GM part number should be 22845992

My 2017 came with 23349854 (Delco A3218C)

2014-2016 you want GM p/n 22845992/AC Delco # AC3181C. 2017-2018 and 2019 classic is GM # 23349854/AC Delco #AC3218C.

2014-2018 and 2019 classic there is no difference in the filter and air box with or without Z71. Both use the same air box and filter. If you trace back the old numbers, they dropped the non high capacity part # and superseded it all to the high capacity # which are the two above. So long story short, they used to have two different filters about 10 years ago but stopped doing it.

You can use also the Chevrolet Performance air filter p/n 84520923 which fits 2014-2018 and 2019 classic.

The original numbers up to 2012 were 15908915/A3085C (high capacity) and 15908916/A3086C (standard capacity). GM dropped the standard capacity filter all together. 15908916 supersedes to 15908915 high capacity which was then changed to 22845992/AC3181C.

22845992/AC3181C goes from 1999-2016.

As for the 2017-2018 and 2019 classics, 23349854/AC3218C, the only thing that is for sure that I can tell is they might have changed suppliers. The media is yellow with an orange frame, the 99-16 filter is white media black frame. Its the same size other than the height of the pleats and not by much. They are about 1/10th of an inch shorter on the newer one. The 2017+ filter is 77 pleats, 1999-2016 filter is 74 pleats.
