Can I get some advice on purchasing a Trail Boss

I don't see the rebates getting any better.  April's were less than those offered in March.  They haven't produced a vehicle in over a month.  Inventories are down, no need to incentivize.

My 2020 TB was about $8k off of sticker with 0%.  Bought it March 21st.  I opted for the 5.3L because it had all of the other options I wanted.  Regular bed with tow mirrors is a rare combination.

I was trading a 2018 LTZ with the 6.2L.  I don't miss the 6.2L.  The TB is not "fast or quick" regardless of the engine (for a truck it is average) but that isn't what it was designed to be.   The lift and heavy ass tires slow you down.  I have the tow mirrors which also cause a ton of aero drag.  You want a quick truck get a dual cab short bed LTZ like I had.  Just about the lightest config available with a 6.2L.  That truck was quick.  Would launch like a beast in 4HI with traction control off.  Now, if I want to go fast I just take the wife's 2010 RS/SS Camaro 6.2L 6-speed.

I like the extra torque of the 6.2

Although I am a Chevy guy, (have had some GMC's) If I was going to buy right now I would have to go AT4. And that is because of options. The Trail Boss is like GM's poor cousin of the AT4. Why you can't get a TB with the same options only a GM brain could answer. Completely ridicules to me.

Couldn’t agree more. You can spec a trail boss out to $60k and it still won’t have memory or ventilated seats. Completely ridiculous.

MSRP on mine was ~$52,000 if I remember correctly and I worked the price down to right around approximately $40,000, again if I remember correctly.  This was with no trade in and financing through the dealership @ 3.5%.  Mine came out to almost $12,000 off MSRP, before TT&L, if that helps at all.

Thanks Gangly,

just out of curiosity...what lift would you recommend  that would be @ the same high (3" front-- 2" back) the Trail Boss  ?

thanks

IMO the best deal would be keeping the 2017... assuming you paid $50k for it, that's like 88 cents a mile in depreciation! That doesn't pencil.

Certainly the smart thing to do. But that Cajun red with contrasting black gloss is awseome.

Without the 0% financing the most they would come off the price was $9k. I would have bought it if they would have went down to $45k -(which was only another $2k) I would have bought it.

$9k off (now looks like $10k off) with 0% financing is a good deal - if you like the truck and are happy with the trade value you should buy it.  with 0% you lose the $6,000 gm customer cash, so the $9k is all coming from dealer dollars and any other gm rebates you can qualify for.  Also the 6.2 in a trail boss is hard to find, so they are not going to give that truck away, given nothing new being made right now.

There is always a better deal that someone got, but if you want the truck - I think what they offered is fairly reasonable and you can be driving your new TB today!  Really it all gets down to your trade, if that works, at $10k off I and 0% finaning I would buy it.
