GM L96 6.0L gasoline "Engine Inertia"

Recommended Posts

Hello. Before starting I would like to let you know that I know nothing about engine. So my question might me really stupid or the words I have chosen for my question might also be wrong.

1)I have to do a engine dyno test. And the cell is asking me to provide them the "engine inertia" data.

2)And the reason why they are asking that is because they have to get the correct drive shaft and damper to use for my engine dyno test.

(number 1 and 2 are exactly what the cell told me words to words)

I tried to google but Ii found nothing.

So can someone help me to get that "Engine Inertia" data please.

And if I am in the wrong platform please let me know were to ask my question.

Thank you.

You might want to ask your question in the 2015-2019 Silverado HD section, as those trucks utilize that engine.  Although I have no idea what "engine inertia" is, maybe someone will.......

Usually, engine Inertia is calculated using the data obtained from the dynometer.  The manufacturer of the engine will have this information off hand, but its usually calculated using the dynometer.
