Tonneau Cover and All Weather Floor Mats (Recommendations)

Recommended Posts

First time GMC.  Recommendations for Tonneau Cover would be appreciated.  If anyone has any real world experience with a lockable Tonneau Cover let me know.  I'm going to have so equipment in the back periodically and I subscribe to the old adage "out of sight out of mind".  So i want to get something that looks good and performs well.  Also, in the past i've switched between Huskey and Weather Tech floor mats in difference vehicles because one had the perfect fit dialed in, and the other was just not quite there.  Anyone have a recommendations?  2020 GMC Sierra 2500 Standard Bed.

It’s hard to beat the factory floor mats for fit and finish (the form fitting ones ). They fit perfectly and the mat for the back seats is just awesome.

I’ve got the Diamondback HD.  This keeps my bed completely dry, and the locking mechanism makes it harder for someone to break into my bed than it would be to break into the cab of the truck.  Plus it looks good, too.

I’ve got a 2020 Chevy 2500 crew cab lt z71 trim, I bought weather techs for it because I have had very good experience with them in my other vehicles, no complaints about them in this truck expect they don’t settle under the rear doors like they should. The doors push them up when they close, tried 3m double sided tape and it didn’t work and I’m working on something now to avoid screwing them to the plastic sills. But other than that that no complaints they fit the mold of the floor perfect. I think I paid 220 for the set, front is one peice going over the hump and fits well

GM for the mats all day long.  No fitment issues unlike some aftermarket ones.  No need to install any special retainers to the floor, they don't move around, etc.

Tonneaus.  Right now GM is having issues on the 1500 tonneau convers except for the GM roll up cover.  They are recalling the tri fold hard cover again, and the soft one is still on hold.  I'd only consider the GM roll up cover at the moment.  Otherwise, explore the rest of the market out there.

Nice!  I appreciate all the feedback!  Nice looking trucks too.  I just pulled the trigger on the BAK Revolver X4 Tonneau Cover and a set of front and back Husky Liners X-act Floor Mats @15% off with free shipping from Realtruck.com.  The Tonneau Cover will be here Friday but the floor mats are on back order. I attach a pic when i get the X4 Tonneau cover on it.  Not a big fan of having it rolled up on top but with the standard bed it's what i have to do. Thanks again for the input, much appreciated.

Now I have to figure out what part number I need to add the Auxiliary Trailer Camera.  I found GM Part Number 84876818 but doesn't seem to be compatible with the 2500, only the 1500.

I have camera part number 84876818 on my 3500HD. Call the guys at ShopChevyParts and they’ll hook you up with the correct part (and probably have the lowest price, too).

Well, i ordered it 2020 Silverado 2500 Transparent Trailer Camera, Auxiliary Trailer Camera, Models with CWM, PDM, UVN (84876818).  The price was lower as you stated and i got 5% off as new customer with NEW2020 code.   Thanks again!

Nice!  Thanks Jay.  I'll give them a call and see if i can get one ordered.  Just curious, have you used the trailer camera and if so how long is the trailer?  Did it perform as expected?

Yes and no.  Check out this thread where I posted the Good, The Bad, and The Mystery.  When it works, it’s awesome...when it doesn’t it’s a waste of a few hundred dollars.  The GMC Service Center at a local dealer has had my truck for more than a week trying to diagnose my problem.  Hopefully Shotgun and I find a solution that will help inform everybody else.  I’m confident that GMC can get this working again.

I have seen several ideas here for hard tonneau covers, but I need one that also fits over a Reese slider 5th wheel hitch.  I looked at the Peragon (https://www.peragon.com/ephp/trucks/view/Chevrolet/Silverado 2500/2020/G5-SB) but I am wondering if it will be too hard to make tight turns.  Any help will be greatly appreciated since I haven't done anything with a 5th wheel except to ride along when I was a kid.
