Lq4 with 706 heads

Question: Is there anything special i need to worry about when putting 5.3l heads on my 6.0? Can i use 6.0 head gasket? Do i need to match rocker arm assembly? Or are they interchangeable? Any unforseen pains in the @$$ i should know about??

Im about to do  my head gaskets and am thinking about swapping my 317s for some 5.3 heads if i can find a good deal. I dont want a race truck. Will never do forced air or anything like that. Might do a cam a few years down the road...

I'm not sure how much help I can be here.  Any particular reasons you are looking for 5.3 heads?  Higher compression?  I would imagine you still need the 6.0 head gasket due to the 4 inch bore.

Do i use 6.0 or 5.3 head bolts? Google and YouTube arent as much help as i imagined in these details.

4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 all use the same head bolts.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Yes im hunting higher compression. From what ive read it seems to be a simple and cheap upgrade for lowend power. Truck started eating a minor amount of coolant so i figured since im Gunna have it tore apart might as well have a lil more get up n go when its back together.
