4.3 hard to start, stall after stop and norestart

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

First, excuse my bad english, i'm french.

I made a search for my problem and did'nt find nothing.

I buy a GMC Safari 88 with 4.3l TBI.

The truck is hard to start. When running, after a stop it stall and don't restart. If i put carburator cleaner in the intake and restart, it's start and i can drive. But at the other stop, it will stall. And not restart if i dont shoot carburator cleaner in the intake.

If it start and i dont have to stop, it will not stall. I can go on hiway with no problem.

Did anybody have this problem or someone know my problem?

Thank's

A bad TPS that is fooling the computer into thinking it's wide open will activate the clear flood fuel map and stop the injectors during cranking. Have someone crank the engine while you look at the TBI unit and see if the injectors are pulsing.

Eeehhh, could be but I believe that the Throttle Positioning Sensor would throw a code through the Service Engine Soon light if it were going out.
