Driver alert 1

Recommended Posts

Anyone know if the driver alert 1 package (Below) can be added to an AT4 if it did not originally come with it? I mean we are talking front and read bumper sensors and some reprogramming.

yeah its almost always best and for sure cheaper to get options up front.....get all the options you want aside from tires and suspension....I actually have driver alert 1 package and though it wasn't requirement I am kinda glad its there....but there is a few options I didn't get that I wish I would have.....

I doubt the dealer will add that or program it for you. As stated above though anything can be done I guess. I'm surprised the AT4 your looking at doesn't have that. The ones at the dealers around here were fully loaded when I was looking at them. What dealer are you seeing this at?

this is the same package as the 'safety package' in the silverados, I've been looking for a truck without the package, but i'm just curious can the features be turned off? I had a Nissan Altima rental recently, and was quickly annoyed with the blind spot monitoring and don't really want the truck driving itself.. i'm old school.

driver alert doesn't drive itself it just has blind spot blinker on mirror that flashes and front and rear sensors for objects.....truck wont do anything automatically they are just warnings....I think driver alert 2 is where you get some automatic features.....and yeah there is a button below infotainment for it.....same as auto start/stop (which I hate more than anything)

Driver 2 in the GMC has the automatic lane keep assist, auto braking, and adaptive cruise control. Lane keep is eh. It really only works if you are going straight and just start to creep into another lane. Auto braking with the cruise control off.... i have tried coming up behind people at a red light and always end up applying the brake because I dont trust the truck, or it has an insanely late reaction. Not really sure the specifics on auto braking without cruise control on though. It also has the vibrating seat, which was disabled before i even pulled out of the parking spot at the dealer.

Most all of those features can be toggled on or off.
