10L80 10-Speed Transmission Torque Limit?

Recommended Posts

I can't find anything anywhere on the new 10 Speed.  The closest I could find was a 6L80 on the GM website that showed 650 ft lbs.  Has anyone come across the torque limit for the 10L80?

Thanks.  I also saw that but I have seen mistakes in the "GM Authority" before.  I was hoping to get some verification either from someone's experience or an official GM source.

I think the 3.0 has the 10L60 and the HD have 10L80

If the HD you are referring to is the 2500/3500 then it's a 10L100 that has no relation to the 10 speed in the 1500s and was designed by GM & Allison. The 10 speed in the 1500s (at least gas engines) is the 10L80. There is also a 10L90 version in the Camaro and Corvette.

Back when the 4L60 was made the 60 stood for 600ftlbs, this is the torque that it can take without braking

I would assume that the 10L80 is 800ftlbs. But reliable the 460ftlb that the 6.2 makes.
