Just purchased 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 z71 lt.  black rims, spray black Bedliner, black bow ties, only z71 badges on it.  No aftermarket items on truck.   How do I tell if it’s the midnight edition ?

maybe contact gm and ask for the build sheet?

Course, to me, this is the sort of question that needs the answer prior to going "Yes, I'll buy that."

Oh, and this is posted in the wrong forum, as this one is about 2019/2020 models.

I love the truck regardless of the midnight edition.  My question was how can I tell if it is.  Of course I know I can contact a Chevy dealership and find out but that’s what this forum is for

May have better luck in the right section of the forum, this section is for 19s and 20s

I believe the Z71 badge on the doors is a telltale sign of the midnight edition.

That can be easily added by anyone for $40 or whatever those badges cost. If it is an edition shouldn't it have a specific RPO code? If so what is that code and it should be located on the RPO tag.

My '15 was NOT a Midnight Edition and had the Z71's on the doors, I had every intention of making my '15 an "artificial" Midnight Edition.  My '18 is a ME.

My '15 (day after I bought it) (Dec15-Jul18 ??

Looking at the picture of yours, are your mirror caps black?  She looks like a ME, but there is a way to use your VIN to find out for sure, just not sure how.  KBB will only show you a generic description of your truck.  I would go ask a nearby Chevy dealership.
