Wiring for a roll bar into a third brake light help?

Recommended Posts

I have a 2015 GMC Sierra base model. I found a used roll bar (Sierra) It comes with a third brake light and all the wiring's there. Looks like there's wires for mounting to lights on top of the roll bar and wiring for the third brake light. The plug is the oval shaped with three prongs. I don't think that my truck would have a place to plug that into but looking for help to try at least get the third brake light running connected to the stock truck light. Need info or any help if possible thanks.

Use the trailer wiring, if you don't have a trailer plug, then look around the main harness under the hood, normally driver side of the truck.

and that is better because trailer wiring doesn't get electrical from the computer,if you can find the bundle of wires the look under dash driver side, i the harness is not there either look under the bed at the back of the truck.

I reminder.. the harness is a bundle folded together about 9" long.

Now the final place... the wiring will come in a bag when the first owner bought it.

Desperate measures buy a trailer brake module, even if it doesn't work,  all you need i the harness and the plug, make sure you test the wiring because one of them is connected to the battery feed. Then you will have turn signal wires, brake lights and running lights.

Sorry for the lengthy reply, I tend to do that...
