'17 Silverado 5.3l oil fill extension help

I read somewhere on the forum where some have bought & added the Oil Fill Tube from the newer Trucks (19 &20) to our earlier V-8's that extends the oil fill tube to make it easier to pour your oil in. Here's a link to the one some have used. oil fill tube   The price I see is only $8.40, however they want almost $20 to ship it.

Has anyone here installed this?

1. Does it just insert into the existing filler hole when you remove the cover? or do you need to modify it?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I used one of these. I don’t remember if it was this one exactly or not tho. I did have to trim a little bit of material off where it locks into the valve cover.

It works; no need to modify anything

I bought one and installed it.  It click in, a little wiggly but works just fine.  It won't fall off because off how it's designed.  It takes a bit of force to get it off.  I have a 2017 suburban with a 5.3L engine.

 

This solves the big problem of adding oil without making a mess.
