2017 Silverado 1500 double cab trailer brakes

my truck didn't have a trailer hitch installed when I bought it, I aded a curt classIV, it had the wiring for the 7 pin and 4 pin hidden behind a blank panel, I added a factory wiring connection, and I added a factory brake controller for the dash. I bought a 7 pin tester, and found that the lights and brake lights and turn signals work but when I squeeze the brake controller no lights light up on the tester, making me think I'm missing fuses or some programming orsomething. I tried doing a couple searches on here and didn't find what I was looking for so I started this thread. were going to pickup a travel trailer and I want to make sure everything is working before I show up to the dealership to pick it up.

looks like the fuses are where they are supposed to be under the hood....

My dealer said a factory brake switch cannot be added unless it was installed by the factory. An after market one can. I have a 2017 Silverado 2500HD and sure enough... it is missing the brake module under the bed.

What Manny said is correct. Doesn't matter that all the wiring is there. You can't add the OE one after the fact.

I agree with everyone else... I have a thread out there about my Tekonsha P3 install for the same reason. Of which I'm still trying to sell, now that I own a 2019 which has the integrated brake controller.

If your dash as the upper left 'coin pocket' above the 2W/4W drive/range selector...
