Carbon Black Metallic

Recommended Posts

I like black trucks and have been looking at the 1500 Denali in Onyx Black.  A dealer near me has one in the Carbon Black.  While I like the Onyx better I was wondering if the Carbon would show dirt a little less.  While I do keep the truck clean I don't wash it every day and black looks best when just done.

Any opinions?

Probably not a ton but I’d think some since it’s got some metal flake and isn’t straight black. I’ve only had mine for a day or so I can’t quite tell you yet. I’d go for it, definitely a cool color.

Was that the color you were looking for or did it just grab you when you saw it on the lot?

I thought it was cool because you don’t really see the color. I looked at every picture I could find online and bought it without seeing it actually. Glad I got it, was delivered last night. Definitely looks different in different lighting.ce67c6cde99e0ea456007b89f067e160.jpg

Sounds like something I did back in 1996.  I was looking for a Firebird Formula with certain features.  The salesman found what I wanted at another dealer and told me the color was blue-green cameleon.  I said ok not really knowing what I was getting.

Turns out that car looked blue in some lighting and green in others.  It was definitely a conversation piece.  I'll have to take a closer look at the carbon black.

I went in and wanted a black truck, they had a few onyx black Silverados, but nothing in an AT4. Then I looked out the window and saw it being delivered on the semi. It was love at first sight and Im glad I saw the carbon black in person! I bought it then and there.

G.M.'s metallic paint on these trucks is pretty nice. Lighting changes the appearance of the color. My last two Sierra's were Onyx Black. My AT4 is Smokey Quartz. I get lot's of compliments on the color. I think you'll love the Carbon Black.

I purchased a carbon black metallic AT4, and I have yet to wash it (still waiting out the 2-3 week cure time for the ceramic pro treatment to cure). It is still fairly clean looking despite a couple hundred miles of rainy weather driving. It is cleaner looking then my black Silverado I traded in would have been after that. To be fair, the Silverado also had paint protection.

Thank you. That is what I suspected.

Just put a deposit down on a Carbon black AT4 today, coming out of a Northsky blue thinking it should be about the same as far as showing dirt. It was a toss up between Carbon black and Satin steel. I guess time will tell.

My old silverado was onyx black. Gorgeous when clean, but its a mess when dirty. I saw the carbon black on a Yukon at the dealership. Oh. My. God. The color is absolutely stunning. It looks black but sparkles. You wont regret it.

Very nice trucks gentlemen. I had a similar color on an older BMW and it really did hide scratches well and aged very well over time as compared to onyx black.  Enjoy.

Went to a dealer that had a carbon black and onyx next to each other. My opiniun carbon black looks hazy

Were they cleaned up?  I knew that a dealer had one and stopped by to see it. Dealers have been closed here since 3/20 and this truck hadn’t had anything done to it since they had gotten it.  I had the same opinion but chalked it up to dirt.
