Removing and Replacing Chrome Bumper Cover (Rear)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500.   While backing out of my drive the other day I managed to back into a service truck with a metal work platform and it pushed a small dent into my rear chrome bumper cover.

My question is this - Can you remove the cover only and replace it without removing the bumper bracket (subsequently having to lift the bed)?

Thanks in advance!

No you can't. If you're looking at getting an aftermarket Chrome rear bumper. Be prepared the Chrome is crap and so is a metal. You're better off finding a whole nother bumper new or used used would fetch about 250 give or take new 500 + 700

Edit. It's really not worth trying to take a bumper apart just for the shell. That TOP Step plate has a bunch of snap clips that break easily
