On previous to the '20's, you can fold when using fob to lock truck while walking away...and use to unfold as you approach truck. 

 

Of course if using fold/unfold to get thru a doorway, you're likely using button inside.

 

My most common usage of power fold is when in a parking lots, so someone doesn't hit their head/shoulder on the mirror and than take it out on the truck.

Unfortunately, all the brands have decided the best features now also require standard leather seats, and often that coffee table they call a center console.

yeah mine doesn't.....you need the  LTZ or HC with power extending to get that feature.....I had my mirror taken out on my 2019 RST so I am bit leary of them right now, lol.....I don't understand why GM takes away and gives back features depending on years......on 2021 they are giving arm rest storage back to WT and custom models which they took away from previous gens I have heard.....and am sure the LT will get the auto fold with lock/unlock button back in few years as well.....

 

seems like it wouldn't be that hard to add it back on though....it just needs to communicate to lock and fob, somehow someone will figure it out
