maybe get the repair history on the truck from the dealer?

I requested per deal, CARFAX, Build Sheets, Used car service records, VIS and pictures listed on site, plus other service records they have since it was a lease vehicle at the dealership.

Test drive up to 80mph make sure no vibration.

try confusing the transmission with switching from light throttle to heavy throttle

known issues are shaking and bad 8speed

neither are easily fixed

Don't understand what you saying try confusing the transmission with switching from light throttle to heavy throttle.  Mean a sudden flooring of the gas pedal?

Its more of an 8 speed issue

6speed issues are fairly rare.

but yes, if it was an 8 speed, a way to confuse it would be to slow down from highway speeds like normal, and then wot at like 40mph.

You always have to wonder what so recent a model is doing on the market.

You never know. It might have been owed by a person who just wanted the new body style, Or short term lease. Lots of variables these days. I know a lot of buyers come coming up to Canada buying clean used trucks to take back to US lots. Because of the dollar exchange they are making money.

Beautiful truck!

I don't know how much you are paying or how many miles are on that truck, but have you checked out the prices of the (new) left overs? They are giving steep discounts around my area of northeastern PA.

I picked up a new 2019 Black 1500 Double Cab 4X4 LD (LD is the 2014-2018 style body) standard bed, 5.3L, 6 speed with LT and Allstar trim a couple months ago for $34,500. Original sticker price was $45,500. I paid more for my 2016 Colorado back in 2016. There are many great deals out there . Even for the new 2019 body style trucks. I'm seeing new trucks for less than used ones!

Just a thought...worth looking into IMHO.

Good luck with your buy and let us know what your final decision was.

Before you buy, make sure you checkout laura gmc pricing on new trucks. A lot of people fly there and drive home.

Even if you don’t want to fly there, it’s what a lot of us use as a measuring stick for good pricing.

Keep in mind, the extra length of time you have on a warranty, brakes, tires, and everything else that is consumable. Also depreciation since 2018 is the previous body style. They have value that you can actually calculate. If you’re only $5k cheaper than a new one, it’s likely a wiser investment to by new.

Local dealer here still has (7) brand new 2018 Denalis on the lot. I suspect a LOT of people are looking at those, and then looking at a new one and realizing the '18's aren't discounted enough to make the deal worthwhile.

Currently discounted ~$12k or so. They hit anywhere under $50k, and I'll consider picking one up. About another $6-7k to go!

So when or did they change the bed size, shape etc on the GMT900 to the newer 2018 model or is the bed the same? So 2007 newer body bed same as the 2018?

Where can i look up to find out? Sorry not good with searching on computers. I know Google it.

The GMT-900 ran from 2007 to 2013 in the half tons and 2014-2018/19 are K2XX trucks. The shapes are obviously going to look different just because of body style changes.

The GMT-900 in extended cabs ran 6.5ft beds or 8 foot beds. Crew Cabs only came with 5 foot 8 inch beds.

The K2XX trucks the extended cabs aka the double cabs only offered the 6.5ft beds, no long beds. Crew cabs had either a short bed or standard bed. 5 foot 8 inch short beds or 6.5ft standard beds.

You can download the brochures still for just about all of them, I have.  The 2009 GMC Sierra brochure is particularly detailed as is the 2010 Silverado brochure.  Try the 2014-2016 brochures for the K2 pickups and then you can compare them all with the most accurate data.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well got my truck delivered from the transport company Friday. Washed it up and OMG better looking in person than online. No dents/scratches etc on the body. When i washed i was looking hard. Nothing. Interior spotless. So my nerves are settled down not seeing in person prior to buying. Wife loves the truck as well. Especially since the pedals move for her shortness to drive. Yeah right-doubt it.

So got to get front license plate bracket installed as Washington has front plates. Crap missed that one when working the deal. Oh well. At least truck here, looking good and ready to roll. Now just got to figure out the clock adjustment, garage door opener on the upper console etc.

Thanks all for input during this post.

While driving today a newer Camaro pulled up next to me and was staring t my truck. I rolled down the window and they complimented big time on the truck as they haven't seen a brown color yet. Heck neither have i ☺
