key fob transmitter faulty?

Just tinted my windows and have the same key issue. We will see how it goes. 2020 2500.

Did you get this resolved? EXACT same issue here. Scheduled for dealer next week, but hate leaving the truck for '3 or 4 days' until we can 'figure it out'.

Did a quick look at fuses and don't see one for the radio receiver antennas on the body and in the handles. Was thinking it was a blown fuse somehow.

I have a 2020 Silverado 1500, 36,500 miles with the same “Unable to detect key fob” problem. It has happened twice so far and has cleared itself overnight both times and then the fobs work correctly. I have been able to put the fob in the fob “pocket” in the console and drive it both times.
The first time it happened, my daughters 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee was parked next to it overnight and her vehicle had the same issue. Way too coincidental!
I don’t believe my issue has anything to do with window tinting. Mine were tinted about 6 months ago and no problem until now.
Mine is going to the Chevy garage Monday. I would like to hear if FirstAscent has an update/fix or anyone else.

I should also add the dash warning said something about “attempted theft” and something about the wheels or tires. I don’t think either of these warnings are relevant to the issue. My daughters Jeep key fob reset on its own also after the tow truck arrived.

So up until a couple days ago that one event was the only time it happened, and as I mentioned it went away on its own, never really figured out what happened.

Now, a couple days ago I took my truck in the shop to get my windshield RE-tinted as there were some small bubbles that never went away. When I picked the truck back up the remote was acting up again exactly the same as before. Then it clicked, when this happened the first time was when I got so my windows tinted the first time! These are the only two times it has happened.

So, I believe maybe some water/liquid maybe got on a sensor or something causing it to act weird. I don’t know what specific sensor or electronics related to the key fob are near/under the windshield but somehow it’s gotta be related.

Luckily each time it went away on its own over night which also could make sense if it were a liquid issue (ie fixed itself when it dried)

Any chance you were recently doing any similar work with any sprays/liquids?

Your situation sounds different than mine but hopefully it will help or that it all fixes itself for you

I just had my windows tinted today, windshield has 35% rest of the truck is 15%. Worked for a few hours and now I’m having issues locking/unlocking the truck from outside and can only start with key in between cup holders. This is a 2021 Sierra I’m hoping it’s only because of the tint and will go away.

it definitely follows the exact symptoms I had, since you posted this yesterday it hopefully is resolved or should be very shortly by now. It's annoying I know but it does just go away, I assume when it dries up from the spray.

2019 Silverado, 18,000 miles… my windows have been tinted for 2 years, power running boards 2 years. After running to the store where I did have the rear passenger driver side door open for about 10-15 minutes. Got home, tried to turn off truck, it says no remote detected! I try to reprogram both FOBS as in the manual to no avail. I will try again tomorrow before I go to dealer. If I go to dealer or not I will post whatever solution I find.

Update on key FOB not working… the dealer found the truck was in learn mode. Multiple relays (driver side fuse panel) not plugged in and no power from B+ power to RCDLR. The company that installed my amp research steps apparently made a mess in the fuses and relays. Then put duct tape to hold relays in.

I am having the same problem since I changed out my starting battery under the hood. The remote only works in the transmitter pocket. Before I changed the starting battery I could have it in my pocket, or jacket with no issues. Now it needs to be in the transmitter pocket. I have new batteries in both remotes and they work just fine for unlocking and remote start out of the vehicle or at a distance. Definitely a head scratcher!

Trying to research a compatibility issue w/ my Creader Elite, I saw a video that mentioned a 'battery reset' when installing a new battery.

Does this apply guys? Mr Shadetree Mechanic (me) changed the battery in my mother's 2006 Montana a few years ago. Afterwards the temperature display read 0* C regardless of ambient temp & we never got it to work since.

Afterwards talking to a friend who was a mechanic until retiring & selling his shop last year. He was saying (while trying to correct it) that swapping out batteries isn't as simple as it used to be. I dont recall if he replaced the air temp sensor or not.
