Shopping a new 2020 AT4. Could use some help with pricing.

I traded my 2018 Silverado LT AllStar and my 2020 Terrain SLE on a 2020 AT4 on Monday. Been wanting to get back to one vehicle for a long time. I had enough equity in my Silverado to basically offset my Terrain to almost break even. Small rebate, plus 0% for 84 plus a 4 month deferral. I walked out paying less a month for basically everything. Less payment, less insurance, etc. Also getting running boards for free and 3 extra oil changes on the house. I might have been able to do better, but I hit most of my goals on this deal and am satisfied. I consider it a blessing for sure. Never had a fully loaded vehicle before.

Plus uh....the truck is amazingly awesome. It’s been years since I took the “long route” to and from work just to enjoy a vehicle. I’m truly amazed at how good it drives and rides.

Congrats on the truck! As long as you are satisfied with the deal and walked away happy, then you did well.

I submitted an offer on a 2020 model, but I am seeing if the dealer will give me the rebates plus 0% for 84 months. If they don’t combine them, I’ll hold out and see what happens in the market.

I have tried to get the rebates and 0% combined and haven't had success with 1 dealer so far. Going to wait and see what GM does for April and May and cross my fingers for a fully loaded AT4 for $53kish and 0%. Maybe I'm dreaming but I'm willing to wait a while to see if GM gets desperate enough.

All the rebates I’ve seen come with stipulations. I noticed most have put “conditional” next to the price with every rebate applied.

One rebate is for everyone. The dealer rebate. The next is for an extra incentive but is NOT eligible with special financing(0%, deferrals, etc). And the next rebate is for someone coming out of an off brand lease agreement(switching from Ford to GMC for instance).

On my particular deal my payment was $20 less per month with 0% versus taking the extra $5k off and probably being around 4% apr. Kind of a wash really.

Yea I told them I was being greedy and that if the rebates don't stack with the financing then I'll wait till later in the year for the bigger rebates. I'm in no rush so it's all good.

I’m in the same boat. I’m in no rush, but if I can get a deal as mentioned earlier, then I’m all in. April incentives may be better with a lot of inventory not moving across the nation.

CNBC published an article few days ago referencing a decline in sales this year due to COVID-19:

I'm waiting also, like I had a choice ?. most dealers are closed, no dealers locally with the exact truck I want, nor are similar ones priced in my neighborhood. hopefully the some things GM put down like 0% or payment deferral lasts a while and stackable.

I got verbal quote for a 2500 (very respectable) but see if it pans out....trade in my 2019 1500

0% means nothing to me even if I did qualify....always the rebates, if you did qualify you can still get 3% from bank and rebates will outweigh the 0%.... the legth of loan doesn't mean much because you can dictate that however you choose anyway....the deferment of payments is nice as long as interest isn't accruing in those free months....which idk but maybe someone does......if they just start the loan 90 or 120 days late you shouldn't have to pay anything extra but if loan actually starts on sale date than maybe It does

The rebates right now are as good as they are going to be. Especially with the AT4/Trail Bosses. My region has the 6500 rebate plus 1000 auto show cash. If you combine that with a dealer discount, you should be in great shape. The zero for 84 DOES NOT STACK. They can dealer discount plus maybe a 500 dollar one that may be obscure and floating around but none of that 7500 will be on the table. 14k off with rebates or 7000 off with zero percent would be a great deal. (Source is a current FI manager so I would think he knows what he's talking about) If anyone is on the fence about one, the above should be your goal right now. Its a great time for the consumer if you have stable income.

one thing I've noticed with the gmsupplier website and the chevy website, is that when I've 'built' a truck on there and searched for local inventory, it shows a whole bunch of trucks that don't match what I built AT ALL, even though it says matches 100%. Also, some will say 'in transit', while it shows the dealership's picture of the truck..or it's been sold weeks ago and taken off the dealer's site, but still on gm's/chevy's.

yes those things are a joke....I put in gas engine and most I get are diesels

when you build most of what comes out aren't even close

After clicking the 'view inventory' button and bringing up the list of vehicles did you press the 'magnifying glass' icon so you could filter the list of vehicles?

It should bring up filters available for several things including. trim, cab/box configuration, powertrain and colours.

(not near as many filters as they used to have on the site, but better than showing every truck...)

I'd rather have the rebates and take a shorter term loan with low interest since I trade every few years anyway.

I've got my eye on a 2020 AT4 diesel with the tech package if the dealers start getting desperate enough to move metal. So far, AT4s aren't being discounted like the SLT and Denali, same as when I bought this time last year.

Yea I know the rebates/financing don't stack, but I'm going to wait a bit and see what the next few months bring since I'm not in any rush.

My dealer mentioned the rebates should be bigger in the fall, and worst case I can grab a low rate for financing at the time.

Does employee pricing get added in addition to dealer disc and incentives?

Employee pricing usually doesn't touch the rebates at a time like this. My buddy is a manager for a team within GM. As I'm on my 3rd GM truck in a year, I've had him run his numbers out of curiosity, whenever they're offering something like the $6500 rebate, his price won't touch it and they don't stack.

Bmoney is right about this. You're better off to take the $6500 and finance through your own bank. My bank offers something along the lines of 1.5% right now on new vehicles. The only way I'd choose to finance through GM Financial would be if they are offering a finance incentive of a couple grand. Then you only need to finance through them for 6 months to get that rebate. Then at 6 months and a day, refinance through your bank. In that scenario, draw the term of the loan out as long as you can so you pay as little interest per month across the 6 month period. If you're financing too high of a dollar amount, the math may not be worth the extra finance incentive though. Run the numbers!
