AT4 wheel upgrade.

Recommended Posts

First time owning a half ton in a very long time, and i'm curious on tire. I got some 18x9 Fuel Covert ordered in red to match the AT4 accents.

I don't want a load range E tire as the big heavy 10 ply tires harsh the ride some and lose performance as the tires are 12 to 15 pounds each more.

I see that many manufactures make 275/65R18 same as stock in SL or C load range which is better matched for a half ton, but to get a 275/70 which is just over 33" tall all ive looked at are E range 80 psi rated tires.

For ex Falken wiildpeak 275/65R18 SL range tires are 47 pounds and E range are 60 lbs. and 275/70 are only E

just looking for opinions or if anyone knows of a 275 70 tire thats SL or C load.

Thanks.

A buddy of mine works for Toyo and we discussed the new AT3 that was just released.  He said something about them being 6 ply vs 10 and lower load range available in different sizes.  I'd havd a few beers but it was something along those lines.  Maybe check into that.  The AT3's he has on his truck look pretty sweet.

what size did you have, most of these Wildpeaks are 10ply...
