Right, I remember that "Mission Accomplished" moment.  And then what?

Ok I’ll try again as if it will matter . The president is a optimist. That’s his job among other things. The people around him usually give the bad news first. That’s their job. Like when he says we got to get back to work. He’s providing hope. Reminds me of president Reagan. They treated him the same. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone to say a bad thing about him now. I know I’m probably wasting my breath. Fingers.

There's a big difference between providing hope, and providing false hope.  Calling this a hoax, saying we have it all under control when it was obviously not.. that's not what a strong leader does in a crisis.  If you can't admit you have a problem, you can't start working on fixing it.  You can't rally support to solve a problem that doesn't exist in people's minds.

We were the best prepared nation in the world for handling a pandemic.  We had the resources, we had the plans, we had the supplies.  We dropped the ball, big time.  It's time to get serious and get back in the game.  But so much damage is already done.  Too many still believe it's just a hoax or a non-problem, holding onto that false hope they were initially misled by.

It was pretty easy to put two-and-two together and see things were clearly not under control.  We banned travel from China.  For a worldwide problem.  With a two-week incubation period.  How many people travel worldwide in the span of two weeks?  How many infected were already in the country by the time the travel ban started?  What were we doing to track them down and quarantine them?  What were we doing about testing everyone they were in contact with since they arrived?  What about building up our defense?  Getting test capability built up, getting medical capacity increased, getting supply levels up?

Fumbling is how the better team loses the game.

You mean it may get as high as the flu deaths no one notices or the HI-N1 or traffic deaths. Look it’s all bad, I don’t want anyone to die. The hype is ruining people’s livelihood and people are panicking. Why because of the news media overhyped coverage to ruin our president. Need evidence, look at the last 3 years. They have even admitted it, if you pay attention. H1-N1 wasn’t hardly a blip in coverage or hysteria. Do I need to spell it out. This happens about every three- four years. Remember? Of course not. This one will be. Just look at flu deaths in the last 3-4 years. It’s acceptable loss to live ours lives. That’s how it is.

I just saw two very positive pressers. One this morning from the governor of New York. And this evening. Two of the early infected states turning in about 500 ventilators. Italy and Spain are starting to head down from their peek. We mourn the passing. See light at the end of the tunnel. I saw hope.

Hydrocloriquine. Anti malaria drug and lupus. Shows promise. Some doctors using it as a preventative. I bring this up because it shows how even something like this can be used as a weapon to divide the masses. It’s also a product that’s part of the right to try that was passed thanks to this administration. Some news organizations are questioning the used to their tiny audience simply because who’s suggesting the use of this well tested drug. The usual divide among party lines. Ifs there’s a bright side reasonable people will have more for themselves as a last resort. While the bitter other side that’s anti anything Trump will not. It would be nice if those shrinking news organizations would show the positive as well as their ever present negative. Their audience could make an informed decision.

Interesting observation part two. Some of our leaders want to release criminals. Why, the bug is present. If you were on a cruise and the bug was present. You couldn’t leave. I have an idea let’s put the prisoners on a cruise ship.

Did you stop to learn and understand why or just jump straight to moral outrage?

Yes, yes. We can trust criminals to self isolate for 14 days. But not mostly older cruise passengers. Outrageous.

I'm listening to Dr. Fauci on this.  It does show promise but he has repeatedly said that we need reliable data on it before using it.  And it's not well tested yet, we're in the process of doing that.

The usual divide goes both ways.  I agree that the news coverage should stop focusing on trying to get Trump to admit that he was wrong with some of his earlier statements.  I know he'll never do that.  As a resident in NJ, we've been dealing with Trump for over 40 years and just become immune to some of the things he says or does.  We should focus on the situation at hand.  BTW, Obama did some good things that conservatives will never bring themselves to admit.

And before I get the typical "you're a liberal" response, I'm a voter that runs true center.  I have my beliefs and whatever candidate suits those best gets my vote.  Case in point, I voted G.W. Bush because I refused to remove a good leader after 9/11.  I voted to remove Menendez in NJ cause he's got issues.  I won't vote for Bernie cause he ain't my style and I don't believe in everything he's selling.

So if I disagree with something you say, it's not political, it's not because I'm a never-Trump-er, it's because I watch the WH press briefings and can make up my own mind about what is being presented.  I don't watch pundits because they have an agenda.  Stay safe folks.  Let's hope this ends sooner rather than later.  I'm optimistic but I will take the necessary precautions to protect my family.

I was born and raised in NJ. My father employed 60 people in his construction business. We did the site work for great adventure, leisure-town etc. We left when the oil embargo hit in the late 70s. The right to work law wasn’t enforced there. I witnessed the threatening phone calls from soprano types advising my father how to run his business. We restarted in Texas. I also witnessed what Donald Trump did in New York. The ice skating ring comes to mind. Our business tripled in size in the last 3 years. Basically from relaxing regulations is the reason. Soooo yup I will vote the same next time.[emoji106]

Hey, the policies that he's implemented are helping you so yeah I'd vote the same way if I were you.

The best thing Trump can do right now, is stop trying so damn hard to make people think he knows so much more than any other human being, and let the experts talk at the press briefings about what needs to be done.  He needs to sit back and let his experts take the lead and stop getting in his own way.

I agree he’s full of himself and overflows confidence. Being from New Jersey, New York area that’s how it is. I come a family of confidant self motivators. I love the questions and answers at the pressers. As the audience try’s their attempts at gotcha questions. They’re no match. I’ve believe his style is needed at a time like this. I can only imagine if the other candidate had won. How she’d be trying to figure out how to make money out of this. Just like they did with their charity they started after they left the White House.
