Zip, do you think there is a correlation between the most cases and the most freedom?

The most dead and the most freedom?

Just a question guys.

I'll be speaking off the cuff so excuse the wordiness, but I need to preface my final answer.  I wouldn't correlate the most dead or most cases with most freedom, at least up to this point.

Early on essential workers, elderly, and underlying conditions are probably the bulk of the dead in America.  Those folks were probably regimented, very disciplined, and responsible while exercising their freedom.

I have not been tested but the possibility exists I could test positive, probably just like you.  I have an extremely controlled, restrictive personal environment.  Also have a very controlled environment where I work and shop.  But I am also exercising "most" freedom.  I usually time my freedom when the least amount of people are moving.

Now to answer your question, I believe the increase in cases and death are 20% additional testing and 80% people just feeling bad and going in to be evaluated.  We're not doing enough testing to have a higher percentage in that area.  I wouldn't correlate either of those to more freedom.  Again, at least up to this point.  Moving forward with the virus starting to impact younger folks and comfortable weather, most freedom will be a factor.

We had to take my daughter to the emergency room in Harris County yesterday per our doctor for possible testing. There wasn’t many people there and the non patient waiting area was outside benches. Maybe 8 people there waiting. In the 7 hour waiting time she saw very little activity going on very few people getting called to the back in that time. There must be a very extensive and timely cleaning process between patients. She was offered an overnight room said it was up to her she probably didn’t need it. She has a migraine problem causing her to take too much medication. Possibly an ulcer problem. So there’s rooms available at Houston hospitals even for less than emergency patients. The political state leaders continue to say that testing is up, positives are ups. They are starting to trend down as are deaths and hospitalization. The up tick was expected, prepared for and adjustments are being made. It’s amazing to me how people can’t handle the temporary new normal. I’m more cautious, keep a mask handy if needed.

It seems bars and restaurants have ridiculously become the scapegoats for the recent “spike” in cases here (and likely elsewhere).

Let’s see, increase in cases primarily with 18-25 year olds. About half of that age group can’t even legally drink at a bar, and many restaurant lobbies are still closed or practicing very good distancing between tables and so forth.

Surely there must be something else going on with the young people that’s more likely to cause spread...just can’t think of what it is...nevermind anyway, we will never get the data to make a conclusion on this because they won’t ask the protestors if they protested!!!

Now prepping for lockdown take two, once again closing things that don’t appear to spread the virus in the first place. All of this while the curve is still flat as ever. Hospitalization numbers in the mid 200s, about as low as I can remember it being in months. ICU patients lower than ever since the hospital association started tracking them in April.

I got a few things wrong like everyone here did, but my overall theory hasn’t much changed. Population density is still the biggest factor. People densely packed for “protests” now get sick.  Add in the fact that many of these people are traveling a considerable distance to attend. And add in the fact that they were given a clear pass for their “higher calling” regardless of health risks.

What’s just as interesting, masks seem to be ineffective because most of the mob wears them (although likely incorrectly in a manner that does more harm than good).

Mob will continue to get a pass in media and from health officials, while low risk businesses get snuffed out “to stop the spread”. Every day it becomes more of a farce and you wonder why people like me have just had it at this point.

You have to truly remove all common sense to believe that the protesting has had little to no effect on this resent surge. The timelines and age groups all match up, the media and left of america have essentially put their political careers over that of 300+ million people in this country.

Oh i just seen the Mayor of Seattle who should be sitting in a jail cell awaiting trial on murder 2 charges for allowing 4 people to be killed in her peace love and happiness zone, has ordered it to be cleared out today. You say she came to her senses, nope, the protesters came to her home!

It was a on the local Houston news that 200 police have tested positive. It was stated the probability was the over 60K demonstrators in Houston a few weeks ago we’re the cause. They were in the middle of that. Most of the demonstrators were young people. You think maybe that age groups increase positive testing may have something to do with the demonstrations. And bars of course.

For a second forget poly-tic's and just THINK.

Bunches of people in close proximity pass on a disease passed by people in close proximity.

:idiot:

This isn't about poly-tic's this is about stupidity

My son tested positive and he is also experiencing migranes, day 12.  Have your daughter been tested?  Have you been tested?  Not a lot can be done personally if the tests are positive other than to self-quarantine, but it may stop from infecting someone else.  Which is what the masks are all about.  If there is a bright side, most infected people recover.

I have watched several of the protest on twitch which is also uncensored by our disgraceful media and you get the truth, and not the edit version that side want's you to see. The protest had numbers nearing 100,000 people and at best 1/3rd of them were wearing mask standing about 2 inches apart and screaming at the top of their lungs, including directly in the faces of the police who were basically told to just sit their and take it. This was Houston on memorial day weekend, guess were the protesters went to take a break from their selfishness, that would be the open area bars.....

She’s had migraines many years. We know no one with the bug.

We are all somewhat in the same book how we got here by a slow response, improper restart, protests, clubs, beaches, and parties.  Pick one that works for you.  We may never know the full impact of the protests, but we were over 100,000 deaths before they even started.  That page is yet to be written.

Heard somewhere that a group of states are going to quarantine travelers from other states with high positive rates.  Some say that is a good idea.  Good thought, but dumb idea.

If you don't place law enforcement on all access roads into the state, how do you enforce it for drivers?
