National D-Day Museum

Kind of interesting story that has something to do with this. I went to college in Lynchburg, VA. The National D-Day Memorial is in Bedford,VA, and before I graduated my girlfriend and I went down there to check it out. The reason it's there is Bedford county va send like 35 guys to d-day and I think something like 28 died, so the percentage of death per men, was the greatest in the country.(the numbers may be off, but you get my point)....anyway we were walking around looking at everything, and my girlfriend kept asking these questions that I just didn't know the answers to. So this old man comes by and hands us a brochure, and we start talking to him, and he gave us a tour of the place explaining everything, and the meaning behind all the statues and such. finally, when we were done, there was a big picture of all the men/boys, that were sent off to war. And we were commenting about how young they were, and so on. Well the guy walks up to the picture, and he says to us....do you recognize this guy? We kinda look at each other, and we're like no??? Should we? And he replies......"That's me".......I about fell on the floor. Then he countinued and gave us a little insight to the hell he saw that day. The whole experience was pretty amazing.
