Leveling shocks???

You have your opinion and I’ll have mine.
I know the difference between preload spacers and top and bottom strut assembly spacers.
I don’t pay people to work on my truck. I do everything myself. So I’m pretty versed in mechanic skills.
I also know how to read the Eibach install instructions.

well tell that to guys who are running stock springs with there eibach kit, lol

members have them with stock springs and ive personally spoke to eibach

And I said that In my post.
You can run the Eibach struts (shocks) with the OE stock springs but in the Eibach spring instructions it clearly says to not use the Eibach springs with the stock (Rancho) struts (shocks).
I’m sure they were talking about standard length Silverado struts (shocks) so the Trail Boss struts (shocks) may or may not work with the Eibach springs.

yeah at one time I was gonna get GM kit and try eibach springs to see if they would work but it never materialized.....if diameters are correct it should but no way eibach would give a go ahead to use their product in conjunction with another manufacturers strut....

Yeah probably but I wouldn’t want to use the Eibach springs and keep the Ranch struts.

I would want the Eibach struts too but the way I’m reading their instructions, it will only get my ride height back to what the trail boss already has which as you know is 2” taller than the standard Silverado.

I suppose I could source a 2” top strut assembly spacer to get me the extra 2” I’m looking at going. Idk. I’m wanting to be at 4” lift above a standard Silverado ride height.

I know Ready Lift offers a 2” uppers spacer and that may be what I have to get. Then I would use the RL UCA’s I already have to fix the angles and the 3” replacement rear block that I already have.

ryguy stated he is already at 1in over TB stock height with the kit....I have seen others closer to 3 in as well...I hair under 2 with OEM springs..these kits are made for everybrand and learned along time ago instructions aren't always correct or accurate....

 

eibach rears arent made for 3in

differential could be an issue @ 4in (DTL most likely ) if not vibration issues early on.....maybe not who knows

losing down travel and compressing the strut/spring ( to gain height with strut you have to compress something...its not free)

 

seen too many with problems doing things this way and my own personal experience on fabtech years ago.....never again for me.....but I know why guys do it,  same reason I did....its cheap....

 

if I was gonna go 4in on my 50k truck I would just get a real kit, or keep it under 3 and use the adj strut

 

zone is probably the one I would go with....reasonable

When I put the first put the Eibach coilover together I set it on the lowest perch and installed it just to see the difference with the Eibach spring height compared to oem, the Eibach coilover was about 1/8 lower then the oem TB Rancho strut. So the spring alone almost gives you almost as much lift as the TB Rancho lift.

I read those instructions and they are a joke, they don’t have instructions for the TB, that’s why I was taking a bit of a risk installing these but it’s not that big of a deal I’ve done this on many cars and trucks.
 

Ride quality is objective anyways, my wife told me she didn’t notice any ride difference in my truck when she rode in it after the new suspension...

haven't heard many complaints with Eibachs….only ones who want it to ride like Cadillac were lil disappointed, great kit for the money for sure

 

your truck looks great!

She didn’t complain, she just didn’t notice a huge difference. That’s a good thing. She would tell me if she felt the front or rear all the sudden become harsh and jarring compared to those Ranchos.

I used to have a Ford Focus ST and even the stock suspension was too stiff for her, she would feel sick when I drove fast around corners. I loved that car! So going from that to the bouncy nose diving TB was not okay with me, I didn’t feel safe driving the truck around twisty roads. These struts and springs changed all that, the rear end is planted now and the tires no longer hop going up hills around sharp steep bends, the front end stays planted when you brake into the corner and the truck has less body roll. On the freeway they are nice and tight going 80 mph plus with 35 inch tires. Off-road I’ve only been on some fire roads so far and I haven’t aired down or really gunned the truck but I’ve broken the rear loose on corners and again everything is tight and controlled.
