DEE ZEE lift gate fix

for those of you with the slow opening tailgates that have failed to function, this is a cool product I have installed and use now.  no sense i going to the dealer for a fix that will just fail again. this is the answer

Used one on my 99, 04, and 08, they work pretty good for the money spent.

i installed one on my '16 and it works great.  I'm awaiting the color patch rattle can to show up so i can paint the brackets.

I've had one on mine for a couple of years & definitely worth it. Would be even better if there was an easy lift as well as drop, I guess that's what the gm version did.

I've had one on an 07 Sierra I had. Works great. So far my 14 is holding up but if it does give up the ghost I will go this route.

One of the first modifications I did to Pepper. Love this product. Four years, no issues. Easy install. Reliable as the sun.

Dee Zee site doesn't appear to have one specific to my 2018 LT trim. WT only.

Anyone running this with say an LT or LTZ trim level?

 

Did the WTs not come with a tail gate assist for that trim level?

Since I didn't receive an answer to my questions above, I'll try a different tack.

As stated, Dee Zee doesn't list a model for my 2018 with LT trim so since the link above is for the product to be used on a Ford pickup, is this the part one would use on their Chevy Silverado?

Correct Work Trucks and I believe the Customs didn’t come with the assist. 
 

Dee Zee part number for the K2 standard tailgate is DZ43102

I did confirm with Dee Zee that they do not specify a part for the assisted tail gate models but as you stated, the part # is for non-assisted tailgates so...

Unless the OP states otherwise, I'll conclude that the link to the Ford # was either a mistake or that the model can be altered to fit the assisted tailgate models.

there are no aftermarket assist shock for our trucks tailgate because they come from the factory with the assist function, problem is the part keeps failing, and spending $22 on the deezee kit is cheaper than sitting at the dealer for warrantee work on the most precious of days when we have free time.

I got that some time ago.

Question is...your link in your first post is Ford specific. Is that the Dee Zee part you modified to fit your tail gate?
