Are there any issues with the Retrax in the winter?  I have a concern that if water gets into the rollers and then freezes it will become inoperable.

Sorry, no comment on that, I live in central TX.

I have also been researching tonneau covers.  I haven't been able to find any comments on using them with the GMC MultiPro tailgate.  Looking at the tailgate it appears it would be impossible to get a good seal there with any cover.

Is that an accurate observation?

I just bought the American Tonneau Company soft trifold, and the fit is good.  The seal on the tailgate is tight enough that the tailgate won’t drop when I click the release. Have to give it a little pull.  Not a huge deal for me and in fact, would prefer it to be tight versus leaking.

Oh, this is on my ‘20 Sierra 1500 AT4

I have owned one bakflip and 5 retrax pros.  While the price of the flip style cover is nice, there is a reason or many why I have opted for the retrax every time since...

Care to elaborate?

I have the same issue with the Tyger. My 2017 didn't have an automatic tailgate so I'm guessing this has always been a problem. Not sure if it makes sense to loosen it a touch or not.

The retrax pro is just a very good cover and is versatile. Entire use of truck bed without having something smashed up against the back glass and no rear visibility.  Also no ugly rubber joints and has the best look of any cover. The retrax can be stopped at any position and believe it or not, I have used this feature many times. Yes they are expensive but if u have your truck for say 5-10 years, the cover is $800 more, that is $100 a year difference. I just think they are worth it but many do not and maybe can not spend 2k on a cover. Some shop long term and some just want to cover stuff up in the bed, I am a visual person so I go for looks a lot along with functionality.

Also on this topic Zelmo, I believe that would have to be A LOT of water. Water runs down theses tracks to the canister out the drain tubes. It is impossible to fill the track with water and it freeze. When installing the retrax it is important to get the rail slanted outwards to keep the water from leaving the track into the bed so it will drain. HOWEVER, I do not know because I see snow only when I go on vacation lol

Thanks.  At this point the only reservation I have about the Retrax is a comment I saw that the assist handle in the back of the Denali bed interferes with it.  I'm still trying to get a confirmation on that.  I'm also not sure why that would be a problem with just the Retrax and not all covers.

I found that the LoPro X15 had two disticnt models for the 2019 Sierra with and without the multipro just because of that assist handle. They cut a notch out of the drivers side rail to allow the handle to pass partially into the rail because of the angle it locks into when extended. If you don't order the correct one, there will be an interference. I think all will have the issue, just need to probably contact the manufacturer directly if you have that handle prior to ordering so you make sure you are getting the correct one.

FYI - I contacted Retrax and they told me that all I need to do is remove the assist handle and put some washers on the bolts before putting the handle back on.  Sounds like a fairly easy fix.
