Drove a Ford F150 for a few hours

Watch some mid west street racing on YouTube, I like to watch the guys from Texas race. There is only one car there that can routinely hang with those turbo stangs, Midnight Performance's C6 ZR1. All the C7's get smashed by Mustangs. Now the GT500 is making 900whp with FBO. GM doesn't have an answer to that yet unless you have a ZR1, maybe with the Z06 and the flatplane DOHC engine when it comes out.

I am the biggest Vette/LS fanboy ever, but there is no denying the Mustangs have way more potential right now with that 10 speed. You used to be lucky to build a Mustang to be as fast as a Camaro, now your lucky to have a Corvette with a built motor hang with a FBO Turbo 5L.

I’m not even talking about power potential.

the gm v8 feels like a truck motor. It’s a monster off the line and then up top, it’s like meh. When I first rented the ‘16 camaro SS.....I did a highway pull, and my first thought was “wtf, that’s it?”

Then I launched it from a stoplight, my first thought was “holy shit”

the coyote feels like someone took an s2000 motor, and then welded two of them together to make a v8. From a driving enjoyment factor, which is all that matters to me, the coyote basically curb stomps the small block.

I have a 2011 mustang with a 5.0.

the car is a complete pile of shit, but in regards to the engine, my lord what a motor. I’d take it any day over a gm small block in a sports car. (Except a truck, then I’ll take a small block)

seems everything is a pile o shit these days, I think its due to the big Automotive transision the automakers are involved in.. E-cars and automation.

The coyote motor doesnt really blow the doors off any LT motors,. The Hemi  has a stout torque and power curve that will walk all over the Ford

everything is "detuned " for the masses.. no one is responsible enough to handle the all the Smoke an SS will spit out.  the new 6.6L LT motor is 400hp-450ftlbs and that's on 87 octane,  imagine what it puts out when you tune it correctly

GM has been disabling the Power Enrichment in thier trucks for years, due to emmissions.  PE tunes ecu puts out another 40-50 hp over stock configuration.

I remember in the sixties my family members with their Chevelles, GTOs Shelbys etc dropping a gear at highway speeds and leaving black marks on the freeway. The tire technology wasn’t up to today’s standards either. The point is those kinds of horsepower is pretty common these days. I dare say most people would be in a ditch today if it wasn’t for the nannies on vehicles today. Especially in pickups with no weight transfer and nothing over the rear wheels.

That would have been a hell of a stable of cars to have held on to this long.

I remember a few donuts and accidental snowbanks in my 80's Chevy in High School. We'd go play on the ice road at lunch and often miss the afternoon classes because we were towing each other out. Wouldn't trade that driving/life experience for anything. Without it, I surely wouldn't be doing what I am now. No wonder all these kids want to be social media influencers instead of drivers, operators and tradesmen, they have never had fun in a vehicle.

Drove a 2014 Ford f150 for a few hours yesterday and wow how I could not wait to get back in my Sierra. First of all the 5.0 liter felt under power to my 5.3 and to put on seatbelt was even a pain. Did not like the raido and heater controls. My Sierra just seems so much more driver friendly. The one thing I can say is that it did ride nicer. Oh yeah, and the breaks on it were not nearly as good as mine. All I can say is what a big difference.

Bet you did not realize you were going to start a muscle car war by driving a Ford truck......
