Head and Fog lights compared to previous generations?

There is a very big business in selling upgrades for the headlight on the new trucks and various groups have down rated the highway safety of these trucks. The new tiny headlights may look cool (I think they look stupid) but it reduces the size of the reflector being the lamp.

 

It is one reason (the other being no option for a large fuel tank) that I am looking at buying a Ram 1500 after I sell my Duramax truck.
