I’m not sure the bilsteins were designed to handle 70mph dips in the road big enough to cause the shocks to compress 6”

It’s not a raptor

Actually, they are.  I had them on my 2014 and that's exactly what improved over the garbage shocks that came on it stock.  There was no rebound control with the stock shocks, the Bilstein's could take a pretty big 'hit' and not bounce, just take the truck back to ride height.

I have 5100’s as well, I know exactly how much better than are.

You do realize we are talking about a 70mph bump with 6” of compression?

Seeing as how I quoted you saying exactly that, yes, I do realize we are talking about a 70MPH bump with 6" of compression.

I think you have no idea what you’re talking about, I’m almost positive that 6” of compression is well into the bump stops.

Also fairly sure if you were going 70mph and hit a bump that caused 6” of compression you would in fact be flying.

Just jumping in here. I really said half foot as a point of how far down it goes. In all honesty, its most definitely not 6 inches, but it is a Dramatic drop compared to vehicles around me, whether car or truck.

I feel like the new shocks should be able to handle dips in the road like that along with others, but if what people are saying here is correct I need to look at a different solution for the front. It seemed to get very sloppy over the past couple weeks which is why I set up this post.

Definitely test with the airbags removed to see how much they are affecting the suspension reaction, made the front of my previous truck feel very soft when I added airbags at the back.

2014, 5.3, 4x4, work truck

quick adjustment that nobody has said, tire pressure seems kind of low, what are your tires rated at a lot of times probably should be closer to 40-45 psi. try and see if that changes anything simple quick free fix.

Just wanted to update everyone.

We checked everything over. I blew the front right strut mount. Going to get it fixed Monday when part comes in. Wasnt noticeable until we propped up the left side which put all the weight on the right.
