what is the likelihood 2021 silverado will get new color options and an updated interior to match the tahoe and suburban

I would like to see the 6.6 gas option in the 1500 as well, maybe in the wt model.

anyone know when orders for 2021 will be able to be placed? I was reading mid summer somewhere.

what options would you like to see on the 2021?

thanks,

Chris

I;m 99% sure the 2021 model will be identical to the 2020 models but as you said maybe some new colors ?  And off course GM special sticker packages.

Interior will be the same and zero change of the 6.6 in the 1500 model . Why ? 6.2 does the job just fine.

New refresh /updated interior coming for MY 2022 which we should also have the new Electric GM truck as well ( not just hummer)

Zero likelihood of new interior for 2021.

100% likelihood of new colour choice(s).

0% change the 6.6 goes in a 1500.

The plants traditional year-to-year changeover in July (usually).

Orders will start as the production slots for 2020 models get filled.

What do I want to see? Not a complete change of the interior, this whole car interior trend in trucks needs to be put to a stop. Just give it a nip and tuck with some improved materials, don't put the SUV interior in it as that wasn't designed to or up to the task of truck duty. No need for the 6.6, that is an HD motor, the 6.2 works great.

No idea what will happen or change BUT the idea of what would i like to see is a neat idea.

The 6.6 would be a super neat idea maybe with the max tow package. Yes the 6.2 is stout and i have owned many myself but it does not make power from idle like a true towing motor should.

A new interior for the HC and DENALI only to keep those folks happy.

Change the start/stop to allow the default to be off.

Add back power pedals and adjustable seat belt.

Bump the existing power figures by 5-10%.

GMC-add some kind of over ride for the MPT while driving.

Add back text message alert.

It depends on what you consider to be an HD motor. The 6.2 and 6.5 diesels might be thought of primarily as heavy duty truck engines, but were available in the half tons as well. The 7.4 was shoved into the 454 SS. The 6.0 was in the Denali and Silverado SS of the mid-2000s (and beyond into the GMT900s)...albeit with some changes.

I don’t think the 6.6 in it’s current form would make much sense in a half ton. It’s heavier, and down some horsepower and fuel efficiency vs the 6.2.

It does burn 87 octane and will likely be more durable, but if that’s the concern just buy the HD. Unfortunately they are sticking it with just the 6 speed trans for now though.

I had forgotten about the 454SS.

One of my friends has a GMT-900 SierraMax with the 6.0L but he told me it has an aluminum block and is closer in architecture to the 6.2 and the Corvette motor at the time than to the iron block 6.0 in the HDs.

Yeah, they did move to an aluminum block in that generation. But the 6.0 (LQ9) in the Denali, SS, first gen Escalade is virtually identical to the HD’s 6.0, just with flat top pistons instead. Block is iron and everything else is the same.

6.6 is HD only.  The 6.2 exists for 1500.

Interior for 2022.  Same one stays for 2021.

The only addition named so far for 2021 is the RealTree Edition.

Cajun Red Tintcoat is being replaced by Cherry Red Tintcoat.  The 2021 RST Tahoe is in that color that they debuted.

Order entry can start 5/21/2020.  Production starts 7/27/2020.  This is for all 1500 configurations.

The higher trim levels will get a revised dash. I'm also hearing some minor external tweaks as well.
