2003 Silverado 4X4 5.3L.

I have an electrical problem with the power windows, doors locks, and mirrors being controlled from the drivers side and the passenger side.

The conditions are as follows: The drivers side module (DDM) will roll up the drivers window, adjust the drivers mirror, and lock the drivers door. It WILL NOT roll up the passenger window, control the passenger mirror, or lock/unlock the passenger door. The passenger module (PDM) WILL NOT roll up the window or lock/unlock the door(s). I have confirmed power and ground feeding both modules. I have manually operated the passenger motor and it works just fine. I disconnected the battery in the hopes that it would help, but it didn't.

I checked the wiring harnesses on both doors and found no broken/open wires. I've opened up both modules and cleaned the switch contacts and looked for abnormalities on the circuit board but none found. I don't know how to diagnose/test the Body Control Module.

After discussing this with other technicians and folks at the dealer it was decided to replace the drivers DDM. Upon installation of said part it did not correct the problem. I then installed a new passenger PDM but it did not correct the problem.

I don't know what else to do. Please advise!

By "checked the wiring harness", you mean you took the harness out of the truck, removed the protective covering from end to end, checked each wire individually for being rubbed through, then checked each wire for continuity from one plug to the other?  On both the driver's side and the passenger side?

And check all the fuses, not just ones that specifically mention windows.

Sounds like a ground issue if you have power to it.

You should also watch the parameters for window activation on a scan tool to see if the bcm is seeing the input, but it probably isn’t because the PDM is probably not grounded.

This is assuming you’ve checked power.

No, I did not remove the harness... I disconnected them on both ends (unplugged from switch, speakers, and light(s) on the door end and unplugged it from the fuse block on the other end) and checked continuity on all the wires in both doors. I also confirmed that there was ground for both harnesses. I checked all the fuses too.  I found power (12v) at both orange wires; the approx.14 g wire that powers the window and the other smaller g wire that also plugs into the switch assembly.

How many wires are used for ground on this system? And where do they attach to ground?

Do you guys think that the problem is specific to the drivers side?  It sure seems odd that the passenger window won't operate from either side.

Did you load test your circuits? If the power and ground can’t light up a halogen bulb it can’t carry the amperage required to operate anything else. Seems odd that the entire door has nothing working but you have power and ground
