Traded my 15 Silverado for a 2020 Sierra 1500.  Great truck so far.  Wondering exactly what tires came on your 1500 with x31 package.  I have the plow prep package (no intent as of now for a plow, just in case) and when you get that package it requires the x31 package which is supposed to include 18" all terrain tires, skid plates, dual exhaust and decent control per the window sticker.  I received Good Year 18" Fortitude HT tires with mine and the HT stands for highway terrain.  They are not a tire I would want to go off roading with for sure, am I missing something, I though it should come with a beefier sort of tread pattern.  Thanks

"the HT stands for highway terrain."

It might,  but Goodyear calls / rates them All-Season and All-Terrain on their info page.

I'm in agreement that they don't look like an off-road or mud-terrain tread, but they are similar to others that are 'called all-terrain

That is the same tire that came on my LT. When you add the Z71 package it adds 18" wheels and the so called AT Fortitude tire. I would not call them a all terrain tire. Changed mine out to duratraks shortly after getting it. May get another set of rims and run them in the summer as the Duratraks made my mpg drop somewhat.

NHTSA Recall ID Number : 20T002
Synopsis : Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (Goodyear) is recalling certain Fortera HL tires, size P255/65R18. Due to a manufacturing issue, the tire may experience a belt seperation. A belt separation could lead to loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Goodyear will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 24, 2020. Owners may contact Goodyear customer service at 1-800-592-3267.

Thank you,

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
United States Department of Transportation

This is a copy and paste of an email I received from NHTSA this morning. Although it says Fortera HL, I believe that must be a typo as I can't find any such tire listed, just the HT Not sure of the section width of your tires, guessing it's wider than the 255 in the recall, but thought I would pass it along anyway.

The is a Fortera HL series as well as the Fortitude HT series.

To me it seems like a stupid marketing move having the similar names.

Fortera HL is all season

Fortitude HT is all season and  all terrain

I did see the description on Goodyear's site, I also found this description on tire rack attached below.  I think Tirerack better describes the tire.  It seems to me the Fortitude HT tire is a compromise, a highway tire that somehow it was decided to have all terrain added to the description after the fact in the interest of epa mpg ratings and perhaps marketing concerns as well,.   When I first saw them on the truck combined with the offroad package I thought for sure it was a mistake lol.  Thanks for sharing!  I look forward to learning more on this site.
