Best and the brightest ???

Need the brightest headlights led out there , also fog light ?? Any suggestions please ? I need to see dark country roads

I recently replaced my oem bulbs on my '15 Sierra  with the best auto store quality halogen bulbs.  The improvement was very noticeable.  Prior to this, I also researched the available upgrades.  My opinion, based on just going through this process, is for you to buy auxiliary lighting (ie: lightbar)  if new good quality halogens don't meet your needs.

look for an hid kit, there is no led lights that will work in stock gm projector headlights. the led will be bright but you wont be able to see down the road

That is completely false.

I’ve had these in my 2014 Sierra Denali for a year and they provide outstanding lighting compared to the stock halogen bulbs.

My stock halogens don't compare to the stock HID's or stock LEDs of friends vehicles.

HID kit would be the brightest.

:)

It all depends upon the type of headlamp lens are used....all types are not suitable for all l;ens types.....its not just brightness to be concerned about, it is focus to prevent blinding oncoming traffic.

Instead of the brightest bulb, be more concerned with what will operate best with your existing setup. If you have silvered back reflector type headlamps or fogs all three bulb types should work.

If you have projector lens headlights it's halogen or HID only, LEDs will not focus properly because unlike halogens and HIDs they do not generate a point source necessary for reverse focus of the convex projector lens. The more diffuse the number or direction of the LEDs on the mount, the less the chance they will focus properly. And there are two different types of projector lens headlamps to consider when selecting a bulb.

...the cheapo shutter lens types use a single filament tungsten or halogen bulb or HID arc lamp with a point source located at the point of focus, the full lamp is exposed on high beam and a curtain/shutter is placed in front of the beam blocking the upper portion of light to form a low beam. These are easily identified by the clicking noise under the hood of the shutters opening and closing when switching from low to high. Any appropriate number halogen or HID should work fine.

....the more sophisticated type do not use a shutter mechanism, but a compound HID bulb on a sliding mount to move the point source to adjust the focus for increased distance. These require a specialized bulbs.

Aside from that the number of headlamps make a difference. The four reflector lamp setups on earlier Silverados will put out four beams on high and for the same bulb type 4 beats two. One of the reasons for trading the K2 with 2 HID projector lamps.....on high beam a side by side of the K2 proved pitiful against my Traverse with 6"D" lens LEDs. Dark country roads and unlit highways was one of the main reasons for trading the K2 for a 6 LED headlamp model T1.

If you have projectors LEDS will work fine I beleive.

The reflectors are not good with LEDS.

:)

Just the opposite. They'll work alright, just may not focus properly and blind oncoming drivers..

In a reflector lens the shiny rear reflector controls the focus of the beam, in a projector headlamp the location of the point source behind the convex lens controls the focus of the beam. That's why T1s use 6 small reflector lenses, not projectors,  for the LED headlamps in their upscale models.

I bought the Diode Dynamic LED lows/highs for my 015 with the halogen housings. Never got around to installing them cause after I bought them they decided that there is a fitment issue with the highs. Anyway bought a new “work vehicle” that has halogen housings that just happened to use the same low/highs so I installed them in it. They work fine ain’t blinding nobody have a focused hot spot and decent cut off. We live out in the middle of nowhere and I work on call so plenty of night driving. Definitely brighter than the halogens only complaint is they are a little higher on the temp scale than what they looked like online IMO. Overall I pleased with the results as I didn’t want to deal with HIDs.

DD has plenty of info and videos on their site & YouTube about LEDs in halogen housings and why theirs and others like theirs work with actual research and why ones not like theirs don’t work right. On a couple other vehicle threads from other manufacturers DDs are a very popular option for halogen upgrades.

I suggest you do your own research on using LEDs if your interested in them. When LEDs first came out what has been posted above in other posts was true. If you buy cheap Chinese Fleabay/Amazon crap it still is. If you buy a quality properly designed LED it’s not.

Glad I didn’t listen to all the “they don’t work they are wrong they kill baby seals” BS in every headlight thread on here...
