CAI question

Recommended Posts

Any of you that have installed a cold air intake ever gone back to stock ?

after having mine on for about.a month or so I’ve seen a dip in mileage and the sound to me sounds like crap. Should have listened to some of you who said it’s just a gimmick.

Yes. Installed full Airaid system at 10,000 miles. Removed it and returned intake to stock 3 years later at 70,000 miles.

Other than more intake noise, it was useless and the quality of the construction of the components was inferior to the OEM ducting. I removed it and returned to stock when I discovered some of the plastic components developing cracks.

The full CAI is never really worth it unless you have the need for lots of airflow.

It's the exact reason I only went with the airaid intake tube that keeps the stock airbox. The massive breadbox of a intake is gone and that's what I kind of wanted. Makes removing it faster too.
