Aftermarket Upper Control Arms

Recommended Posts

I got mine today.
I ordered them from Alligator Performance. I forgot I had a $100 gift card from them from a few years back and they took it. They were $499 so I got them for $399 +tax
Nice packaging .
A can cooler?

ok.

so I'm looking to potentially put 35s (34.5" KO2s) on GM stock 20" wheels in a couple months when I need new tires..

most of the things I've read says that aftermarket UCAs will allow me to do this (I already have a 2.5" urethane spacer level kit installed).

-2018 Silverado 1500 Z71, so I have the stamped UCAs

Am I understanding this is accurate?

I like the Readylift 37-3500 uca..

I would worry that you can fit them and they arent gonna rub on your fenders/liners when turning. Other than that you can run them on stock Upper control arms and I dont think it will matter. If you get a real wide tire on the stock rim you may get some rubbing on the control arm as well (aftermarket or not)

The main thing is that with the bigger, heavier tires is you are putting more stress on the balljoint and the level doesnt help the angles either. So the aftermarket UCAs will help with 2 things.

1. It will correct the balljoint angle

2. It will be a stronger overall unit and keep the balljoint intact. The stamped steel ones from GM are the weakest of the 3 available and multiple companies recommend to not use them for levels/lifts

Thats my understanding of this. Maybe others have a different answers.

Here you go Bud...

Nice welds. Wish I could weld that good.
Grease zerks 6 total.
I'm curious if the stock LCA's have grease fittings. I doubt it.
Also Josh from Kryptonite said they are coming out with some LCA's soon

Those look killer. I am between these and the Cognito’s. If you don’t mind post up some pictures once installed, thanks!

Don't worry you guys will get pictures. My Daughter has a new camera. Big lenses. You should see the pics it takes. [emoji44]

I really don't think you could go wrong with either. I went with the Kryptonite's because of their reputation in the 2500-3500 Chevy's. They have every front end part on them trucks .
Mucho heavy duty o.

You should have them early next week. When are you doing the install?

Oh yeah. Those are nice setups just ask TXGreek.

If you have a 4 Wheel Parts by you check their labor price
I have them installing my McGaughys 7 to 9 set at 9" , new UCA's, rear blocks and add a leafs. bolting on my already mounted and bead balanced tires and alignment $1162 out the door. I stopped looking around when I got that quote.
Two others came in at $1900 and $2400 .
