Adding 2" GM "lift kit" price, what do you guys think?

Copy..That makes way more sense So $1079 + $480...

Yep, of course I had them add an additional 1" on the front to reduce the rake and added 35X11.50R20 Ridge Grapplers to fill out the wheel wells.  All together I was under $3k out the door.

Very nice. What level did you have them add? top or bottom mount? The tires mounted on the stock wheels it looks like?

It is a Traxda leveling kit.  It has a 1" U-shaped bottom spacer and two plates for the top.  The plates on top can be staked to get the height desired.  We just did the bottom spacer to get about one inch over the TB lift.  The tires are on the stock wheels, the offset allows the larger tires to fit without rubbing.

that's look I am going for....factory rims

actually surprised the UCA for trail boss isn't different than std trucks.....I know its only 2 inches but they used new cv axles (which is great)….you can buy TB axles for about $300....if you ran something else and wanted them...I really want that 3in up front but not crazy about spacer.....even though its very slight.....think TB has more rake than standard 4x4 trucks, sure looks like it

That turned out great. How is the ride compared to stock? Does it feel more loose since the tires are larger? Did the tires make a noticeable difference in power? Thanks!

I’d love to go that size but I’m afraid it might be too much for my 5.3/8spd. So I’m leaning towards 275/65r20 or 285/60r20...i know your tires are only about 10lbs heavier than the ones I listed...but since the stock tires only weight about 40lbs, I’ve been nervous about pulling the trigger on anything since I really enjoy the stock ride quality and performance.

Edit: I’ve been asking everybody on the forums, and I can’t remember if I’ve asked you...if I have, sorry for duplicating the question!

There might be a little bit of effect caused by the additional weight, but the 6.2L doesn’t feel limited to me. These tires are still effectively a 65 series tire and they feel solid, not loose at all. Overall, I’d say they feel similar to stock.

The GM lift kit includes lots of parts to lift these trucks correctly plus re calibrations to the steering and camera's.

It's not a simple block style lift.

From what I've heard there is zero clearance issues, no popping or knuckle rubbing.

If it was my truck I would do the dealer over the others.

I just had a dealer installed leveling kit on my 2016 and hated it.  All of the above issues plus they truck was all over the place in a panic stop.

He first told me something around that price, but when I told him I wanted the AT4 "lift" which has the longer axels and all the other stuff, that's when it became the $1875. Which level kit did your dealer use if you don't mind me asking? no funny vibrations or anything? CV angles will be no issue?

Why is there longer axels? The “lift” is only a taller strut right? The arms aren’t wider as would be with a long travel. I’m not familiar only curious. The lift you’re describing for that price is a VERY good price. I race as a hobby and my half shafts are more than that whole lift + instal so that’s what I’m comparing it to. Post a pic when completed I’m sure it looks awesome!

I am fairly new to the whole life thing too. I also wonder why, when you can get an aftermarket 6"-8" lift and they reuse the half shafts. Here is a pic of what it ceoms with.

Now that I see the picture I remember it . Because even on the Lifes they usually do a drop down bracket for the CV angle. Something to consider when I was looking for a Lyft for my truck was the angles. By that I mean putting a taller strut in the front required me to get different upper control arms so that my geometry was correct for cam and castor and overall alignment plus stress on the ball joint. NowI don’t off-road my truck so maybe that’s not as big of concern but going with a new upper control arm and a taller coil over was totally worth it as the truck rides amazing!

because on a good lift kit they drop the differential down same amount their lifting....so it rides at factory height

Lol. It rides amazing! I have the Deavers waiting to go on also. We race (for fun) and have trucks specifically for off-road I just really like good shocks and a great ride.
