Why Did You Buy Your HD?

I haven't seen a thread like this in a while so I thought I would throw it out there.

I was just curious... I was wondering what it was that drew everybody that has the GM HD pickups to buy one (or two).

I bought mine 9-12-01, so I have had time to really fall in love with my truck. The first thing I noticed is how the truck looked like a truck, and not a space ship with wheels.

I love the ride, the power is awesome, and when I drive through town I notice people stare at it. I'm not being arrogant, because I get alot of complements.

Please post, because i'm curious what it was that made everybody else buy their's.

I just wanted a crew cab for more seating. 2 + 1/2 seats in an S10 just wasn't cutting it anymore.

I wanted a powerful truck that wasn't built like a car with a really big trunk. I wanted a truck that would work and drive like a truck. That left out the 1/2 tons. Plus, I grew up when a truck was defined as a regular cab long bed 3/4 ton, and there was none higher than the 1 ton duallie.

The 2500HD is exactly what I wanted, and I test drove brand F and brand D trucks also before choosing.

I'm not a car person unless they're fast.I have always owned heavy duty pickups.I got the crewcab because I needed room for the family of four.Had to have 4x4 for plowing snow and I just won't buy a 2 wheel drive truck.Paid for the Duramax due to a bad experience with the 8.1 in a previous HD.The truck is my wifes driver that I only drive when we go places,plowing snow or pulling the 28ft race car trailer.I'm very happy with it,it's the best truck I've ever owned.

I just wanted the biggest thing I could find... Crew cab long box.. Just kidding.. Long box because I thought about getting a truck trailer and it was not much more... Crew cab because I couldn't seat anyone but one person in the S10.... Looked at the ext and thought they would stink when hauling people and gear to go snowmobiling.. Of couse I have only used the second seat twice in over a year... Other than the floor to hold the subs or stuff on the seat to keep it dry when moving it..

I bought the crew cab 4x4 dually LT. The back seat is just a place to throw my jacket ( no family or passengers ). 4x4 because it snows here once every 5 or 6 years.(Charlotte NC) The 8 foot bed for my golf clubs...just in case I take up golf. My Corvette is no fun to drive on rainy days.
